      Louis Vuitton speedy bag

Louis Vuitton Malletier, commonly referred to as Louis Vuitton or shortened to LV, is a French fashion house founded in 1854 by Louis Vuitton. According to an article I read, "For six consecutive years (2006-2012) Louis Vuitton has been named the world's most valuable luxury brand. Its 2012 valuation was 25.9 billion USD.

I am a big fan of Louis Vuitton products and always wanted one when I was younger but was never really able to afford one until I entered the workplace. I don't believe in carrying fake brands, it's bot like you're fooling anyone, you know you haven't got a real bag and also I think its unfair on people who actually make their livings from selling the real bags so I waited until I could purchase one from the proper Louis Vuitton store.

I love the shape and look of the Speedy bag so this was the one, after much deliberation, that I decided to purchase. According to some research that I have done, the Speedy bag dates back to about 1932 and all came about when Louis Vuitton first entered the fashion world with their luggage line. According to an article I read which makes a lot of sense in my opinion, "In the age where more people were beginning to travel on cruise ships and trains and with the invention of the car, Louis Vuitton created a large flat case, a steamer bag and a large overnight bag called a Keepall. The Speedy is similar to the Keepall, but it's a handbag. It has one large compartment inside and grab bag handles. It's available in four sizes."

This is what I like about the Speedy, it's small enough to carry around as a nice handbag but its also big enough to fit all your essentials in. It's got two small handles either side of the main zip so you just carry it by grabbing it. This is not a bag that you can put over your shoulder but I think that's fine as it's never heavy enough for me not to want to carry it with just my hand and also you can put this bag in the crook of your arm and carry it like that, like the fashionable people do and it's actually my favourite way of carrying this bag.

The handles are leather and are really sturdy and easy to grab hold of. The leather has lasted really well. I have had this bag for over four years now and it has no cracks or rips and still looks as good as new. The bag itself is made of a nice canvas fabric which is hard wearing and thick and you can tell it is excellent quality because it has not ripped or torn or started to go threadbare like some other handbags would.
the bag is brown and features the famous Louis Vuitton monogram print. According to an article I read, "In 1896 the now famous monogram canvas was created by George, Louis Vuitton's son. A print so popular that it was redesigned in 2003 in multicolour by Takashi Murakami and in 1999 in a miniature version of the print called the Mini Lin Monogram."

I actually have this Speedy in the Mini Lin monogram print which is just a smaller version of the big print but I like it because its a bit more understated and classic in my opinion.

The bag has gold accents such as a gold main zip and a gold padlock and keys attached to one end of the bag. Inside there is just one big compartment but then there is also a little open slit pocket on one side on the inside which is handy for putting coins, keys, travel cards in etc.

I love carrying this bag around, it's beautiful and classic and will last a lifetime. It cost in the £400 region so not cheap but is a bag that I will keep forever.
