      my new favourite bag!

I do not have enough bags. I think my sister got me one last Christmas from River Island which I have been using pretty much every day and it was really starting to get old! Besides, one thing I don't have is a nice, decent, expensive designer bag. I can't actually remember exactly when my mild obsession started with Michael Kors bags, I think it may have started when I saw their new store in Covent Garden in Central London and was trying some bags on with a friend when I realised although they were expensive, they are actually affordable! I have wanted this tote bag for a few months now, and when I finally got it, I was over the moon and I couldn't wait for each opportunity to wear it out the house! I chose this bag in black, although it also comes in a Tan brown and a blue colour, but funnily I don't actually own that many black bags except a Pauls Boutique one, and at almost 25 years old it really is high time I stopped wearing that bag! The exterior of the bag is really good quality, made from Saffiano leather. It feels real and although it doesn't have that strong leather smell, I have been assured from the multiple times I went in the Covent Garden store that all their bags are genuine leather and the highest grade. I have had this bag a while now and it has not faded or worn, nor any of the edges frayed in the slightest. It is a typical Tote shaped bag which has 2 handles which fit snugly so the bag can be carried in the crook of your arm, or also fits easily up on my shoulder. It has the gold Michael Kors logo across the outside and has the MK logo circle charm which is to show the bag is genuine. Inside the bag is a black lining which I worried was a bit thin but it has been fine and has not ripped or torn and is soft to touch. There are two pockets inside the bag, one open and one zipped. The zip pocket is really deep and I tend to put my toiletries in it such as a tube of lipgloss, some sanitary products, a pack of tissue, chewing gum and mascara etc and my phone (which isn't small considering it is the Samsung Galaxy S III) and it doesn't feel full or a challenge to zip it closed. On the opposite side inside the bag there is one open pocket which is a similar size and i often tend to keep my headset or oystercard in it. Another brilliant feature is that inside the bag there is a key chain, a small leather strap with a clasp at the end which I can hook my keys onto. Long gone are the days of me fishing around for my house/car keys which I always ended up doing with my previous bags! The bag is large with dimensions of 11/4"H x 14 1/4"W x 7"D. I can literally chuck all my essentials in, with plenty of room for more i.e. the bag usually contains a book, small travel umbrella, phone, keys, make up bag, purse, hand cream, a bottle of water, spray, amongst other trinkets. I am going on holiday to Barbados in 2 days and it is my hand luggage as it can carry even a spare set of clothes in it so it really is ideal! The only downside to this bag for me is that it is completely open, with no zip fastening and literally only the zipped pocket inside for security. I usually detest these kinds of bags as I get the tube to work where surrounded by other commuters, squashed like sardines and an ideal scenario for pickpockets but I ensure to keep this securely under my arm and putting valuables like phones and money in the zip compartment in the bag when travelling this way. The bag usually costs £240, not much for some people but a heck of a lot for me considering my most expensive bag has probably been about £50 or so! However, luckily for me I have a friend who's cousin works at net-a-porter.com and I was able to use an employee discount and get it for 50% off so only costing me £120! This is still a chunk for me, but a reduction I was eternally grateful for and now I have a glamourous bag at a fraction of the retail price! Result! Overall I totally LOVE this bag and it is my new favourite toy and I find a daily use for it :) I would definitely recommend this bag and think it would suit any woman with a handbag fetish like me as a lovely addition to their collection! It is good value for money and hard wearing so I plan to be using it for a long time!
