“ Brand: New Look / Type: Evening Bag „
I bought this a while ago when I had a wedding to attend and no bag to go with my outfit. I was wearing a fairly neutral dusty pink dress and wanted a pretty and feminine bag to match. I searched everywhere and eventually came across this bag from New Look and knew I'd found the perfect match for my outfit. I wanted something that was going to be big enough to fit everything I needed in it. I have looked and found that most clutches were very small. It can be hard when you go to a wedding or similar event where you know you will be out of the house for much of the day and sometimes into the evening. There were a lot of things I needed to take with me and finding a bag that was big enough was my main criteria, followed by whether it matched my outfit. This bag came in several colours but I chose the light/baby pink colour as this best matched my outfit. The bag was also available in black, red and green - each of which gave a very different look and perfect for different occasions. I chose the pink because it went with what I planned to wear and was also a neutral enough colour that I could potentially wear it again without much trouble. The bag is trapezium shaped (if that means anything to you!) and tapers towards the bottom making it wider than most bags. It is made from a lovely soft fabric which is shaped into rose corsages. This effect is really nice as it gives the bag texture and pattern without having to add additional colours or glitz. It is a very simple design but extremely elegant and feminine, perfect for a summer wedding! Though the majority of the bag is pink fabric it has silver metal accessories. The clasp for the bag and the strap are all in a silver metal which compliments the colour of the bag perfectly. It's also great for me as I am not a fan of gold and don't ever wear gold jewellery. This bag matched my outfit as I was also wearing a silver necklace and ring, it all tied in and looked great together. I'm not a massive fan of the strap which is made from a thin chain. I think it can look a little cheap and would prefer a fabric strap but it definitely didn't put me off the bag as a whole. You can tuck the chain in the bag or remove it all together and just use it as a clutch which is a nice option to have. I like having the strap there though because it means I don't have to carry it and juggle a drink and cake at the same time. The clasp works exactly as you would expect it to, as the two metal balls clip past each other and secure the bag. It isn't exactly super secure so I wouldn't take it out to a large event, but obviously a friend's wedding is fairly safe. The two balls of the clasp have rubbed against each other in closing and opening the bag and the sheen of the metal has worn away a little. This isn't really noticeable so not too much of an issue, though it isn't great. The bag cost me £12.99 which is a pretty reasonable price for a clutch. I also got 10% student discount and was generally very happy with my purchase and the price. I haven't used the bag again yet, but am keeping it for the next wedding I go to as it is perfect for this kind of occasion. A bag I'll keep for years to come.
I needed a cute bag for a up and coming wedding, all my other bags were to small and I couldn't fit everything I needed in them and my husband was not coming to the wedding due to work commitments( he usually stuffs his pockets with my bits and bobs). I decided to treat myself to a new bag at the last minute. I headed off for some high street retail therapy, I found the perfect bag from Newlook and it cost me £12.99. I think it is suitable for weddings or nights out as it looks very cute and It was reasonably priced too. The bag I bought was in black but they had them also in red, pink and green. I bought the black bag as i felt it would go with any outfit and i would get more use out of the black colour. The bag has lots of small perfectly made roses attached to it, the roses cover the whole bag and has been very well made as there as no gaps between the roses of any lining fabric shown. The roses are made from a silk like material and have a layered look to them and have very neat stitching on them. The bag has a small chain strap which can be removed if you want to use the bag as a clutch but I have not tried it like that yet. The strap is incredibly thin and barely noticeable but feels strong and secure. The bag has a metal framed structure which closes the bag and makes the bag feel sturdy, it has a balled clasp to close and open and I find it easy to open and close. The bag really adds a bit of glam and sophistication to any outfit, the roses make the bag extremely feminine and cute. I have had lots of compliments about my bag and like to use it for special occasions. The bag holds all my essentials such as my mobile phone, purse, perfume and make up. Its the perfect size for me. It looks delicate but I find it to be a sturdy well made bag. I am very pleased with the price of the bag and the overall look of the bag and am happy to recommend it to others.
I've owned this bag for a few months now and I love, love, love it! It's so pretty and eye catching and it is ideal for nights out when I can't be bothered carting my usual bag around. I got this bag for £12.99 but after a quick nose on the new look website I can see it is now reduced to £6 - typical! I would of bought another one actually if i'd of known sooner as they are all out of stock on the website so I may pop in to my local store tomorrow and have a bit of a search for some more as they make ideal gifts and are also useful for things other than been a clutch bag - I have used mine as a makeup bag, a bag for my tampons (not sure why I admitted that!) and i've stored various other stuff in it. Enough rambling though. What does the bag actually look like!? Gorgeous. It is so cute and just amazingly pretty. It has layered netting with ruffle corsages which look like roses! So cute. The roses feel like silk and they aren't tacky like you would imagine - I have had my bag since around April and the roses have not gotten tacky or anything like that - the bag is made with good material. The top of the clutch, the frame closure, is a metallic silver colour with a ball clip fastening, this adds a vintage, up-market effect to the whole thing which I love. The bag's a decent size. It's not massive but not tiny. It I can fit my ipod, iphone, small notebook, a few items of makeup and any other small bits into it with ease. I only use this in public when in clubs and pubs as it saves carrying a handbag around. It is just the right size and doesn't look silly or childish like it has the ability to (due to the pattern) - I think if this bag was any bigger it would look silly like an oversized lump of frills but luckily it is perfectly sized. It's a bit of a pain keeping hold of it and I usually just tuck it under my arm; it still looks great. It does have a strap but it's way too thin and flimsy for my liking so I just prefer to keep hold of it. The bag is available in black, green, a gorgeous flamingo pink, light pink, light orange, cream and red. I own the baby pink one (identical to Dooyoo's picture) and it is gorgeous. I don't usually like clasp bags but the clasps on this open and close with ease and are no problem. Overall, if you like it, then get it!
my OH mum got me this as present whilst I was visiting recently, I had seen it in New Look about 5 months ago! so I was surprised that she managed to get hold of it as I thought it would of been out of stock by now. The bag is very cute, very stylish and extremely pretty and there is no doubt in my mind any girly girl would really love this as a present. I remember seeing the bag in various colours when I was back in the store, my OH mum got me this in a lovely vibrant rich red. The bags material was made of a very soft silk, and it was extremely comfortable to touch, the inside was also made of the same material except without the roses. The bag has a very sturdy metal frame which travels around the bag and to open it there is a clasp which I think makes the bag look much more attractive than a zip or a buckle to fasten it. The bag also has a metal chain which is long enough to put over your shoulder, so you can use it as a shoulder bag although with a bag this dressy I much prefer using it as a clutch bag, which is also an option when you have it. The bag is quite small so not ideal for a lot of heavy items or books ect, it will only really fit in your essentials for a trip out somewhere, phone..lipgloss, mascara ect..you also get a tiny pocket which is in the inside so you can slip something in there like your money if your not using a wallet, or your phone if you want to avoid getting make up on it ect. As for wear and tear my bag has been great, no problems what so ever. The bag looks amazing and really dresses up an outfit, I wore a plain black dress and added a red belt, shoes and this bag and everybody complimented on how it brought my outfit together. I think the price was around £13.00/14.00 and was money well spent on my OH mum behalf!
My sixteen year old daughter was going to her first prom at school earlier this year. We were trying hard to kit her out spending the least money possible as the cost of clothing for these kinds of do's can work out really expensive and they are not the sort of clothes or accessories she would wear or use again. We did not have much spare cash either so it was important to get something nice but without paying out. She was lucky enough to have someone give her a beautiful dress to wear for the night so we only had to pay out for the accessories and she wanted everything cream. We had got most of the bits and pieces but she still needed a bag. We wanted her to have a bag as she needed to take her mobile phone with her so she could let us know when she came out after the prom. Knowing what my daughter was like, it was no good just taking the phone without anything to put it in as she would have mislaid it by the end of the evening. We decided to have a look in New Look as she likes their clothes and we have a fair sized store in our town. We were looking up where the bags were but we couldn't really see anything suitable for a prom, but we did find a nice flower she wanted to pin in her hair so we took that up to the counter and joined the queue. That was when I spotted this lovely bag on some shelving that went along the back of the queue. I left daughter in the queue so we didn't lose our place and went to have a better look. The bag was really pretty, it was made of some lovely silky fabric that had roses all over it made from the same fabric and it was just the right colour she wanted for her "look". The bag had a long silver chain which was a great bonus as she had been saying she did not want to carry a clutch bag. I took the bag back and showed her and her eyes lit up. The best thing was that the price was only £12 and I had enough money to pay for this seeing as I hadn't had to pay out for her dress after all. When we got home we had a better look at the bag. It was not the best in the world made item I have seen but it was sufficient for what she wanted it for and it was very pretty to look at. It had a nice silver clasp frame across the top which opened by twisting the two silver knobs apart. The back was not a big size but it was just right for a mobile phone, a bit of change in a small purse and her keys and a bit of lippy. It had a small pocket in the side of the lining but I don't think she used this for anything. She couldn't wait to try all her new bits on and came down wearing the dress with the bag over her shoulder. It was just perfect for the outfit. The silver chain looked nice and went with the silver coloured earrings she had. The length of the chain was just right too, it went across her body like teenagers like to wear their bags these days and still came down quite low on her. You could take the chain off if you wanted it to be a clutch bag but she wanted to leave the chain on. I must say I am really pleased with this bag, I think I would borrow it off of her if I was going somewhere special as I don't carry a lot around in my bag so I think I could get enough in it for an evening out. I would recommend it if you are going to a wedding or something nice, it would be a perfect accessory.
I bought his bag in the 'grey' colour last August to go with a grey outfit I bought for a Christening. Its was £12.99 from New Look in Swansea. I was there for an Annerversary weekend with my boyfriend and decided to go shopping in the city centre which was pretty amazing honestly. The New Look was huge. Because I was in a hurry I jut picked anything that was grey and small. But when I got back to the Hotel and had a propper look at it, the quality was poor. The flowers looked all freyed and some of the floers were lent to one side. Also what comes with this bag is a long chain so you can put it over your shoulder or across your body, but every five minutes one side of the chain would un hook iteself and it would fall off, and it was quite embarrassing. All in all I would say dont waste your money on this cheap bag. You can buy better quality from Primark!!!
A few months ago I was going racing, I had brought myself a new dress and had a nice pair of green shoes to go with it, the only problem was I didn't have a handbag to match. I had almost given up on finding a matching bag and was going to wear different shoes which I had a bag to go with, however I was shopping one day with my parents, actually looking to buy my wedding shoes and we decided to have a quick look in New Look on our way back to the car. Whilst in there I spotted the Ruffle Corsage Bag, it came in several colours including my favourite, pink, but this time it was the emerald green one which caught my eye, it was a perfect match to my shoes, I just had to have it. The bag is made from an emerald green satin type material which is attached to a silver metal frame. The out side of the bag is covered in large rose bud type heads made from the same green material, these cover both sides of the bag giving it a ruffle effect appearance. The bag has a silver over sized clasp on the top almost like that of a purse, the clasp has 2 large silver metal balls on the top which simply push apart and click back together to open and close the bag, the bag is easy to open and close, and the clasp is secure enough to prevent the bag from opening whilst carrying it. On top of the bag attached to the metal frame positioned either side of the clasp is a solid silver metal handle, this is just big enough for you to fit your hand in and use the bad as a clutch bag, you can also use this bag as a shoulder bag, it comes with a extremely long silver chain strap, this attached to two small silver hooks which sit just inside the bag, the strap is long enough for you to wear the bag across your entire body. Personally I never use the bag in this way and always use it as a clutch bag, the 2 hooks for the strap are positioned so that when you are using it as a clutch bag you cannot see them as they are positioned just inside the bag on the edge of the metal frame. All of the seams on the outside of the bag are covered with small green, pink and purple beads, you cannot really see these because of the ruffle rose heads attached to the outside of the bag, however as they bag moves they can be seen and make the bag a bit different, they also finish the edges of the bag off very professionally. When the bag is opened the entire inside is also made from the same emerald green satin material and the ruffle effect on the outside of the bag makes the inside of the bag feel almost padded. The bag is not massive at all, it has a small pocket stitched on the inside which is just big enough for your phone (as long as your phones not too big) this cannot be secured in any way. The amount of things you can fit in the bag is limited, I took mine racing and managed to fit my purse, phone and a few bits of make up in it along with my injection (I'm diabetic) and that was it. I did find fitting all my stuff in a bit of a struggle as I am use to taking a large bag out with me containing loads of irrelevant stuff, with this bag I really did have to be selective in what I took with me, and a large purse is definitely out of the question. I would say that the New Look Ruffle Corsage Bag is definitely suitable for a night out or an event like a wedding or racing, it is not suitable for a day shopping or any type of trip where you will need a lot of things with you as it is just not big enough. A phone and a purse really is its limit, maybe with a few smaller items fitted in around the edges. If you try to fit too much stuff in the bag the clasp on top simply will not click shut, you may also even tear the material of the bag. I have only every used mine for when I have been racing as I just cannot fit all what I need in it for anything else, it is what I would call a going out bag, not a general every day bag. As I have said I brought my Ruffle Corsage Bag from New Look and is only cost me £12.99, personally I thought this was a real bargain, I only brought this for one race meeting but so far have had a lot of use out of it. The bag is extremely well made, I did think that it might not last long, but after several uses it is still in excellent condition and is showing no signs of wear and tear. I have not had to wash the bag as yet so I cannot really comment on how well it cleans, I think it would be ok to sponge the bag with a damp sponge but I definitely would not risk putting it in the washing machine at all. The bag is made to a high quality and every little detail is professionally finished, it really does not look like a cheap bag at all. When I purchased my bag it came in several colours, I believe there was a black and a pink one along with the green one I brought, and there were also a couple of other colours which I cannot remember, unfortunately online they now only show the pink one. Overall I would definitely recommend the Ruffle Corsage Bag, it looks very stylish for a night out or an occasion, it is very well made and is also cheap to buy. They only down side of the bag is the size as it is a little on the small side, however this is not a problem unless you try to take the bag shopping. I have been extremely pleased with my bag and would recommend it to any one who wants a stylish bag for a specific event.
