Just the one start taken off for price, overall another hit from Ollie & Nic

As I am sure people have seen I really like Ollie & Nic products - particularly their handbags. I have had my eye on this Delicious Apple Bag for some time now, I think it has been on their shelves for just over a year which shows that it is a popular product. I decided to treat myself to it recently for the price of £40 (I usually wait for bags to go into their sale however this hasn't so far made it in and so I took the plunge at the full price).

Ollie & Nic is a unique and quirky brand that aims to offer collections of bags and accessories that can be cherished forever, items that are Stylish & Special, Practical & Precious. The brand was launched in 2003 and now has both a successful online shop as well as many high street stores across the country. www.ollieandnic.com http://www.ollieandnic.com/store-locations

The Delicious Apple Bag is definitely a stand out handbag. The bag is a hard woven basket shaped and designed as an apple with a more heart 'esk' shape to it. The woven basket is a bright red weave, which is very closely knit so it has a solid physique, which is great for protecting your valuables when you're running/dancing around.

The top of the apple has a popper fastening that is made of brown leather and sticks out the top much like an apple stalk. Just to add to the quirkiness there is a cute little apple leaf attached to this - Ollie & Nic have outdone themselves with this bag I have to say! The handbag opens and closes with a slight slam and fits together snugly and securely. The base of the handbag has four bronzed studs that protect the bottom from getting scratched and worn when placed down.

I really like the versatility of the straps with this bag, there are two short straps on either side of the apple that are again brown leather and are attached with antique looking bronze fastenings. These straps are for having the bag as a carry strap (they are too short to fit over my shoulders!). You also get a detachable cross body strap, which is what I prefer to use to carry my bags - less work and less chance of me putting it down and forgetting about it! The strap is a long, thin brown leather that is the perfect length to have the apple at your hip.

Not only is this a beautiful bag - it is also very practical, with dimensions of 18 cm height, 24 cm length and a width of 12 -14 cm (with the apple curvature) there is plenty of room for all of your essential items for a night out. The inside of the bag has a red cotton lining with a small pocket for your phone.

My only gripe with this bag would be the price - £40 - which is quite a hefty price tag for a novelty handbag which is likely very cheap to produce. I have had sooooo many compliments when wearing it out though that this counteracts my one grievance and on top of this it is well made, stylish and very fun.
