Saddler Tab Fastening Purse
Advantages: Looks good, highly functional, reasonable price
Disadvantages: Not a huge note area
When the zip on my old and trusted purse broke, it was definitely an inconvenience but little did I know that finding a replacement would be such a mammoth task. After scouring the high street for weeks it soon became apparent that an exact replica of my much loved purse was no longer available and even finding one at a reasonable price to meet my requirements seemed impossible, so my search turned to the internet and after many hours looking I eventually found my ideal purse.
My requirements were seemingly simple - I wanted to be able to access my coins from a zip on the outside without opening up the main body of the purse, I needed plenty of room for credit and store cards, ideally I would like a transparent bit on the inside for photos but most importantly of all I needed it to be the right size- not massive so it would barely fit into my bag but not too small that I couldn't fit much in. Not asking for much I hear you say?! When I came across the saddler Tab Fastening purse it looked to be perfect, so was it so perfect when it arrived - a resounding "yes".
The Saddler Tab Fastening Purse is made from really soft brushed leather which feels lovely and reeks quality. The purse comes in six colours - black, red, green, amethyst, teal and tan, I have it in teal and when it first arrived I was concerned that it would get dirty easily whilst floating around in my handbag but six months on and it still looks lovely and clean having had only a couple of wipes over with a leather wipe (I have them in the house anyway for the sofa). I think that the teal is a stunning colour and it is makes it a lot easier to find in my handbag unlike its black predecessor. Measuring 12cm long and 9cm high, it fits into the palm of my hand nicely making it very easy to use.
As previously stated, I really like to be able to access my coins from the outside and the sturdy side zip makes this possible. It zips on three sides of the purse and folds out to reveal two large black faux satin lined compartments. I keep coins in one side and the cards that I use most often on the other - I have really stuffed this area with coins on occasion and the zip has never let me down. The horse shoe shaped tab used to operate the zip is a decent size and not at all fiddly to locate.
The three fold purse opens out once the tab is opened to reveal copious amounts of space for credit cards - there are fourteen individual slots but I can easily fit two cards in each compartment and the purse still closes easily, even with my obligatory nail file and hair band enclosed. There is a clear space in the centre of the purse that I like to use for photos and stamps. Across two sections of the purse at the top there is the space for notes. This pocket is perhaps not as generous as it could be and I find that I have to fold £20 as they are too big to fit in (not that I have that many of them so not really a massive problem!). If the note area is overstuffed, the purse struggles to close so I only tend to keep a few receipts here as I would hate to put the press stud under too much pressure so that it becomes ineffective.
Overall I love this purse and I am very pleased with it and I feel proud to take this out of my bag to use. It is not all singing and dancing and it may not be right up there at the height of fashion but it is a functional practical purse that looks good in my opinion and I hope lasts me for a long time. It feels like a very high quality item and all of the stitching is impeccable both inside and out. I have not seen this product in any shops, or widely on the internet, but I know that it is available on Amazon.co.uk. I paid £13.95 (with free postage) which I think is a good price for such a high quality item and I am so happy with it that I am tempted to buy a couple more in different colours to suit my mood!
