At last the men are catching up! The scenario: setting out for a day out to town on the train. Sort through handbag to ease the load and leave room for yummy purchases. Along comes himself with the usual phrase "Oh good, you're taking a bag - could you just carry my newspaper / bank books / sudoku challenger / 3 bricks and an anvil! Sound familiar? Then get this item on his Christmas list quick smart!

*What is it?
London fashion brand STORM is apparently renowned for its exclusive watches and distinctive stylish fashion accessories. Their website proclaims that with innovative designs and minimalist inspiration, STORM offers a range of styles from contemporary edginess to sleek sophistication.
Well despite the hype, I am inclined to agree here - but more later.
STORM is a global brand who retail to more than 45 countries around the world. It has its own brand dedicated stores in Czech Republic, Australia, Dubai, India, China and Germany. More STORM stores are planned in South Africa and Nigeria during 2009. that's ok then - get your hols planned!
You can of course buy storm products in the uk. The website directs you to several London addresses inc Carnaby st and Neal st as well as Birmingham, Cornwall and Leicester...among others.
*What are we talking about?
Well what I am so excited about is the first man-bag my better half has owned. Ok , he has a laptop bag and has been known to use the odd rucksack he borrows from the kids occasionally, but this is the first time he has been drawn to his very own bag and I'm impressed by his choice.
*The Messenger Bag
The bag is black and has a waxed slightly distressed leather-look effect - it is not exactly boho wut it attempts to be more casual than a case with its roughed seam edges.
It has an adjustable canvas shoulder strap ( 53inches at long if so desired). This adjustability is a real plus since it's one reason oft quoted at me as to why he can't carry the eco shopper bag... the straps are too short!
The sleek front is a wrap over flap which closes with two magnetic press-studs. The magnetic element is important as it is easy to load the bag so that the front is no longer flat and the press studs would then be tricky to align. The magnets assist here and ensure a safer clasp.
Inside the bag you discover a handy zipped pocket which makes for extra security and a mobile phone holder. In general the bag is pretty safety conscious and difficult to raid. There is a further zipped pocket along the back which is useful for those things you need to hand (timetables / documents to work on) without having to open the whole bag up.
Measurements: 11ins x 12ins x 6ins. A4 files fit in well, making it a good work bag.
Round about £30 from Hiccup and other online stores. Got ours for £25 in a sale so feelin good!
Useful, trendy man bag - appropriate for work use or travelling. Could be deeper in width to allow a lunch box, but perhaps the trendy man about town eats out at the sushi bar more often than my hubbie!
Thanks for reading.
