Whilst it is attractive looking and large enough for all the essentials, the Ted Baker Bowtote bag ultimately lets itself down with quality. The handles on the bag are prone to snapping after little use.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Maybe be pricey, but worth the price tag!

I wanted one of these bags for so long, I can't explain how much I really wanted one of these. Probably since the first day I saw these. Just this Christmas gone, I finally got one! I could not explain how happy I was when I got one of these, because I had a thought my mum and dad would not buy me one of these because they are quite pricey for a tote bag. (Around £35 for a large one and about £25 for a small one, but I wanted the big one because I carry loads and random stuff with me everywhere!) and I always told myself, I will save up for one or when I get the money I will buy one, but it never happened.

Like I said, you can get these in small or big, but if you're a girl who is busy, carry loads of stuff around, I would recommend a large one, as the small one looks like a handbag for a child, that's the only downside to it if you buy the small tote bag. One of the best things about this tote bag is that it is not just like any old tote bag that you buy from River Island, Topshop or Primark, one of the best things about is that. It is waterproof, that's why I don't normally buy tote bags because when you get them soaked by the rain, they look just as soaked as your clothes and I remember when I bought one of these for uni and if it rained all my books would get soaked and all the hard work was ruined, not a good look and a bad idea for buying it in the first place!
Another good thing about this tote bag is that it is a expensive looking bag and the quality is just beautiful, I can see why you can see the quote 'No Ordinary Designer bag' it says what it exactly says! That is always a bonus.
It has a really cute girly bow, which has a wonderful touch to the product so it doesn't look plain and boring, so that's a nice difference!
You can get these in a wide range of colors, and patterns for the upcoming S/S or A/W seasons.
The colors you can get are black (which I would recommend this color) as it is a classic, it goes with everything and you can take it what ever the occasion (because I like to use different bags for different outfits!) pink, gold (mainly for Christmas season) and green, pink, pastel colors (for the spring and summer seasons, I really want a pastel one for this season as pastels are going to be huge for S/S 2014!)
One disadvantage about this is that it does not have a zip, so it may not be an ideal bag if you are in an area of pick-pocketers (people who snatch stuff out your bag out of the blue) But in mine, there is a small pocket with a zip inside the bag, so its good for a passport/phone.

If you want a good quality tote bag, there is only one place to find it and that's Ted Baker!

        Disadvantages

An expensive bag for only occasional use

I bought this Ted Baker bow bag from choice for around £30.

It is a pale pink bag with a black bow on the front and "TED BAKER LONDON" emblazoned across the side towards the bottom. I bought the 'small' version although it also comes in a larger size.

The bag is in the style of a shopper bag and I bought it just as an alternative to taken out a proper handbag when I was just nipping to the post office and the library etc and I just need my keys and wallet and a book and I don't want to carry them loose!

The bag is made of very thick plastic which I originally thought was great as it would mean that the bag would be hard wearing. However.... it also means that the strap cuts into your hand as it is hard rigid plastic that does not tend to flex so well.

I don't really have a problem with this as as I say, I only use it occassionally on short trips in the local area. I do often see girls carrying these bags to work though (presumably they are being used as lunch bags) and I know that I would not want to be carrying this for an hour as my hand would start to get sore!

All in all, this is a stylish looking little bag which is fine for quick trips out and about, but it is kinda pricey just for that!

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

I would not recommend this bag as mine looked tatty in no time!

Ted Baker is a brand that the women in my family love. I'm not sure what started us off with the love for Ted really, I seem to recall buying my husband some cufflinks 5 years ago and perhaps it grew from there. For Christmas 2012 I received this Ted Baker bowtote bag from my sister as one of my 'main' presents.

I had admired this bag just a few months before Christmas and sent my sister a link hinting that I would perhaps like to own it and of course like all good sisters she had picked up the hint and promptly snapped it up for me from ASOS. I am not sure of the price that she paid but it is currently around the £35.00 mark although looking today I can see it is out of stock. Perhaps a sign that no-one wants to buy it any more?

I have been using my bag three or four times a week, for work, for the last two months or so and that is what my review is based on.

This bag is shiny black patent in design with a lovely cream patent bow in the middle at the top and then the Ted Baker London branding near the bottom. The handles are also made patent in design and then there is more text on the side of the bag 'no ordinary designer bag' and then on another side you will find a list of places where you can find Ted Baker stores. Then there is more text inside the bag near the top 'you've really got a hold on me'. All of this detail is quite nice and none of it detracts from the beauty of the bag. The handles and the bag look well made and stuck together and I had no worries about having any problems with my bag.

I mainly wore this bag as a shoulder bag because the handles accommodate for this and I do love a shoulder bag. I found that this bag comfortably held a few pieces of make-up, a phone, a pen & paper and a few other bits and pieces without looking or feeling overloaded. I like how deep this bag is and I can fit large notebooks and other business related items in here if I choose to. Like many women I like a bag that can hold lots of items and I used this as my carry on bag when going on a flight a few weeks ago and it held sweets, magazines, my Kindle, my iPod and several other items with ease.

In terms of looking after this bag because it is patent it is simple to wipe clean which I did on a couple of occasions while using this regularly. My bag has not got any marks on it at all apart from some light scuffing on the bottom from being placed on the floor. In terms of actual damage this was fine until the handles cracked on both sides and I could see the white material underneath the black patent. This was the point at which I stopped using my bag and resigned it to sitting in a box in the bottom of my wardrobe with lots of other handbags.

Obviously my bag broke quite quickly and I initially worried that it might be because of overloading it on two separate occasions but I know now, from speaking to my friend, that her bag went the same way and Ted Baker refused to fix it for free (even thought it was 2 months old - like mine!). I am therefore rating my bag 2 stars out of 5, which I feel is generous. The bag looks nice and is quite simple to keep clean etc but unfortunately it didn't last very long at all despite barely being overloaded and I have been given £10 bags before that have lasted longer and also look better when I am using them. I was impressed by the look of this bag when I hinted at my sister to buy it for me however I would not recommend it and I am only giving it 2/5 because if you literally just put a lipstick and a light mobile phone in the bag it would probably last longer than mine did but I don't like using anything that is broken, damaged or looks tatty - which this now does to me! I would not buy (or ask for this bag) again and I would not recommend it either.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

            Avoid, unfortunately

For my birthday I got some money and I decided to spend it on a bag. I wanted something for every day, but a bit extra special, and something easy to clean and durable as I have a toddler.

I found the Ted Baker Bowtote in John Lewis priced at £25 which I thought was reasonable. I have seen it online slightly less but for a department store, I thought £25 was OK.

The Ted Baker Bowtote is a black shiny plastic bag with the Ted Baker logo to the base, which has two short shopper style handles and a plastic beige bow to one side. It looks pretty quirky and is part of a set which includes clutch bags, larger totes, purses and shoulder bags. The plastic fashion started about 18 months ago with fun plastic flip flops with similar bows being all the rage for Summer and especially holiday wear. It still seems to be quite popular if this range from Ted Baker is anything to go by.

Overall then the bag is very unique in terms of style, clearly a Ted Baker bag not just from the logo but from the design, and it did at the time fill my needs of being roomy enough for the essentials and it's also splash proof. The handles mean you can carry it like a shopping bag in your hand or loop it over your inner elbow, but not wear it over your shoulder. I use it when popping to the shops with my little girl, it holds a spare nappy, my purse, a drink, wipes, car keys and so on. Not the most glamorous use, but you have to be practical!

If my review ended here I'd say I was very happy with the Ted Baker Bowtote, in terms of looks, price and versatility of use. However, it's been rather disappointing in terms of longevity. I have had it since August 2012 and by Christmas 2012 the handles had already worked loose on the stitching, and I by no means carry anything heavy in it. Overall I have to conclude that it just wasn't that well made - and since you can buy a 'knock off' version of this bag on the market for a fiver... I am beginning to wonder if the Ted Baker name was worth paying the extra for, because now I rarely use it due to it being so poorly made - I'd rather have a sturdy, non name handbag than a tatty designer name!

So, this gets a 2 out of 5 - it's OK, it looks nice, but treat it with kid gloves! Overall... I'd probably spend a little more for a different designer bag, or I'd get a cheaper copy. You won't get your money's worth here, in my opinion.

              Advantages

              Disadvantages

              4 stars

On our recent holiday, my husband was desperate to buy me something in the airport! I was of course not against this idea so when he suggested this gorgeous little tote bag from Ted Baker I was happy to let him treat me!

Priced at £21 it seems we got a good deal as the RRP seems to be more around the £25 mark. Not a massive saving, but a saving none the less. I had had my Bloomingdales Little Brown Bag for years and decided this would be a nice replacement.

Gloss black in colour, it will literally go with anything and the pink PVC bow on the front is absolutely gorgeous and definitely the best feature of the bag. It has Ted Baker written in italic pink across the bottom of the bag with London written underneath. In the side panels of the tote is different writing. On one side it says 'No Ordinary Designer Bag', and on the other side is major cities of the world such as London, Paris and New York written down the side, again in pink. While this isn't inspirational writing, it is nice for something a little different rather than it being plain without writing.

Inside is a small zipped pocket, perfect for a little loose change or a lippie or something equally small! Above the zip but still inside the bag it says (again in pink) ' You've really got a hold on me', just underneath the handles. The handles are quite wide but as the PVC is quite stiff, it isn't the comfiest bag to hold I find. I only use it for light use but I wouldn't like to think of how uncomfy it may get if you were holding it for a long period of time for example, when walking to college, etc.

The handles of the bag are fairly short (much like the Bloomingdales Little Brown Bag) and you couldn't carry it on the shoulder. It just fits in the crook of the arm or you can of course just carry it in your hands.
The bag will hold a small amount of 'stuff' inside and is perfect to use alongside a handbag to carry lunch for work etc. If my children were still little I would happily have carried nappies, wipes etc in this over fairly mumsy and over large nappy bags.

If you want to go all out there are matching accessories such as flip flops (would make a nice little duo actually, for on holiday) and a beautiful purse. I think the tote bag and the flip flops are fairly well priced but the purse seems to be out of kilter with the range and weighs in at a hefty £60+.

The only negative I have so far with this bag is just how quick it seems to scuff. I haven't had it all that long but I can already see a few scratches on it given that its black and PVC it seems really noticeable. I don't see how this could be avoided other than changing the colour of the bag, but then it wouldn't be quite so gorgeous!

A pretty little girly bag that I'll just have to be careful with!

                Advantages

                Disadvantages

Fashionable and practical for everyday use.

I was drawn to this bag with the idea that I would use it during summer for picnics. As it is a plastic texture, this means that it is great to go to the park with, as it doesn't get damaged when on the floor. I found that I actually used it all year round, as it was perfect in the rain, not getting soaked all the way through. However, I did find that the rain went into the top of the bag, as there is not a zip on the top to seal the bag. Also due to the lack of zip, I was conscious of what I was carrying around, and I would bury my purse to the bottom of the bag to avoid pick pockets.

The bas is quite big, it can fit a folder in perfectly, making it good for university or school bag. Due to the plastic, it is also quite a strong bag, so I found that books were easily carried and didn't offer strain on the bag or the handles. Inside of the bag, there is a little pocket with a zip, so small items can be placed in here for further safety.

I did not find the price of this bag too bad, as I bought it from an outlet in America (Orlando Premium Outlets) for $45, whereas normally it is $65, which is a bargain price, especially for a designer bag.

The bag has cute little sayings on it, such as "not an ordinary designer bag" down one side, and on the other side, all of the cities which it is sold in. The bow offers a nice touch, especially as it stands out on the bag. Monochrome is very in fashion this season (Autumn 2012), so this bag will be a great accessory to any outfit.

                Advantages

                Disadvantages

It's a great bag - but I shouldn't have got so excited over it as I have one similar

                Disadvantages: Short handle

Ted Baker Bow Tote Bag - currently £35 at ASOS

I was given a similar bag as a late gift for my birthday and after seeing a similar one on ASOS decided that I should take advantage of a discount code, and get one that was similar.

It has a square shape and is 37 cm wide, 36 cm high.

Ted Baker describes the bag as a tote and mine has a contrasting coloured bow. The bow on this bag is made of the same fabric as the bag in a white colour. The bow on this bag is rather flat, and has been laid out as if it were made of ribbon - and it has the ends cut at angles, as if to stop fraying. The bow is held in place with a strip of PVC material.

The bag does have one small internal zipped pocket which was useful for keeping my phone in, but I would have liked it to be larger so I could put my purse in it also, (this would have been possible with a small change purse but not the type of purse that you keep your cards in).

I have the bag in black, and white. The body of the bag is black, and the bow and branding are in white. Ted Baker is written in italics, with London (not italicised) written underneath. The bag is 100% PVC. As such it can be wiped clean with a damp cloth, and is very hard wearing, mine has had a battering, and it still holds it's shape, and is wearing well.

This bag was only available in black and white on the ASOS website.

As for me this bag is slightly preferable to my earlier purchase as the handles feel a little bit shorter, however I would still prefer them to be a bit longer still. The bag if filled with bulky things tends not to sit very well under my arm - but this can be forgiven as it lovely to look at.

The bag due to it's size will hold quite a bit - but I personally feel the short handles make it uncomfortable under my rm if I overfill it...

                Advantages

                Disadvantages

I loved it but I just wish it had lasted longer!

I bought this bag last summer after using my sister in law's similar one which I had been borrowing for a few days while staying with her. I liked it as it was practical to take to law school because it was a good size for A4 folders and notes. Since there is a Ted Baker shop near where she lives, I decided to go in and get one of my own before I left and I was really pleased with my purchase at the time. Unfortunately my bag has now been languishing in a corner for months, as it ended up breaking and didn't last more than about six months!

The bag does look nice, as it is a simple and classic design in shiny black patent. It has a shiny cream patent bow in the middle as you can see on the picture, and bears the name Ted Baker London on the lower part of the bag. The handles are also patent and at first glance they appear to be very securely stitched onto the body of the bag (although I later found this is not the case!) Down the sides of the bag you find the words "no ordinary designer bag" on one side, and on the other there is a list of the cities in which you can find Ted Baker shops. Inside the bag by the handle the words "you've really got a hold on me" are printed.

The shiny material is easy to wipe clean. I have dripped coffee on it before and this did not stain or mark at all - I simply wiped it with a tissue and it completely disappeared. This makes it very practical as you don't need to be too precious about where you put it or leaving it where kids could touch with sticky fingers and so on. Although it can be wiped clean, it is slightly prone to scuffing on the bottom but mine has not scuffed severely.

The handle is long enough for the bag to be worn on the shoulder, which I found a practical way to carry it. Alternatively you can carry it with the handle in the hand, but I sometimes found this annoying when it was quite full, as it would bash my legs if I was carrying it somewhere busy such as going on the tube.

The capacity of the bag is very generous. It is like a large shopper or sturdy tote style which is bigger than A4 in height, meaning A4 folders and notebooks fit in. The base of the bag measures 3.5 inches deep but you can fit in items of more than 3.5 inches thick, as the sides are quite malleable and the top can be opened quite wide to easily fit in more. I could comfortably fit my small netbook, a couple of plastic folders, paper notepads and a textbook in there with no problems. I also used it as a weekend bag a couple of times and it easily carries a couple of changes of clothes, toiletteries and all my basic essentials. The fact I could fit a lot in it was really the best thing about this bag and what attracted me in the first place. It is ideal for college or uni where you need to have quite a lot of stuff with you which is often A4 size or bigger and I can imagine it would also be great for mums who need to tote around lots of various bits and bobs for their kids.

Unfortunately my bag broke as the patent material covering the handles completely cracked on both sides, revealing the white material inside. I was really disappointed by this and felt that it must have been quite poor quality for this to happen. A while ago I read another review on Dooyoo complaining of the same problem with broken handles and that Dooyooer had managed to have their bag repaired by Ted Baker at a small cost. Unfortunately I could not find my receipt so when I went to Ted Baker at my local House of Fraser to ask if they could get it repaired they said I couldn't without a proof of purchase, which I suppose was fair enough. The girl there did mention that they had seen quite a few people bringing these Ted Baker bags back with faults, so it does seem there is some kind of problem in the design or the way they are manufactured.

I haven't thrown it away because I still wondered if I could somehow repair it, but I haven't got around to sorting anything out for it yet so it is currently gathering dust. If a tailor reattached the straps I think they would have to be slightly shortened to get rid of the snapped part of the patent, which would then make it less comfortable to carry as it would be tighter on the shoulder. I also feel a bit annoyed about the prospect of paying to fix this bag as it was not the cheapest in the first place at about £30 if I remember correctly, and I expected it to last longer.

This has slightly put me off the Ted Baker brand as I felt the quality was a let down. My sister in law has about three of these bags in different designs (there is a lovely teal one with a bird cage) and hers have not broken, but as the House of Fraser lady said a lot have had this fault I know it is not just down to me mistreating the bag (which I didn't particularly!)

I would love to get a replacement as it was so handy but I just don't think it is worth it if it will only break again.

                Advantages

                Disadvantages

                matches my flip flops perfectly

For my birthday earlier this year my sister bought me this little PVC bow tote bag from Ted Baker, she bought it along with the matching PVC bow flip flops. I'd been eyeing the flip flops up whilst out shopping with her one day, and I decided against buying them as I couldn't decide which colour to get. She went back and chose the black flip flops with a cream bow for me, along with the matching little tote bag. I hadn't seen the tote bags myself so I don't know if they also come in other colours. My little bag is black with a cream bow on the front. She always gives me the receipt in case I need to change anything, and so I know that the bag was £25.00.

The little bag is quite a funky little bag, it's shiny black PVC with a cream PVC bow on the top edge. It has 'Ted Baker London' written in cream on the both sides of the bag at the bottom, 'you've really got a hold on me' written in cream on the inside of the bag, and 'No Ordinary Designer Bag' written in cream down both sides of the bag.

It reminds me of a Bloomingdales Little Brown Bag in styling, as it's virtually identical in shape and size. It's a square boxy bag that will sit stand up flat on the floor or on a table on it's flat bottom. It has two handheld carrying handles in the same shiny black PVC as the bag itself, these are only long enough to either carry by hand or just to hook over and carry it in the crook of your arm, you can't carry it on your shoulder as the straps are not long enough. I normally carry mine in the crook of my arm as the square edges of the bag are actually quite sharp, and I find that they can leave a bruise if I catch myself on the leg with them if I'm carrying it by hand.

It's not the largest bag in the world, it's just really designed as a tote bag for your lunch and other bits and bats, or as a small hand held handbag. It doesn't have a fastening clasp or a zip on the top, it's a completely open bag, so if you are putting your purse and other valuables in here then you need to be very careful. If I do use this as a handbag I will always ensure that my purse, car keys, phone etc are all at the bottom the bag and that I have a scarf or something in the top to cover everything.

Although I've just said that it's a small bag it is deceptively roomy, I can fit a book or my kindle, spare flat ballet pumps, my lunch and a drink in this comfortably to take with me to work. If I'm using this as my handbag I can fit all of the junk I normally carry around with me in it.

Being PVC it's easy to just wipe clean with a wet one or a baby wipe, however it does seem to scuff quite easily, mine does have a few small scuffs on it already. Now that I've realised how easily it scuffs though I am trying to be more careful with it.

I am really pleased with this little tote bag, and I think that it made a lovely gift along with the matching flip flops. I've had quite a lot of use out of this, more so than my flip flops unfortunately.
I'm not going to give it 5 stars though. I'm going to knock 1 star off because I think it is a bit overpriced for just a small PVC tote bag, I do actually think that all Ted Baker stuff is overpriced. I also think that it scuffs a bit too easily so that's another reason it isn't the full 5 stars.

                  Disadvantages

                  a nice Ted Baker bag

During november 2010 I was out shopping with my friend in Selfridges, looking for a new Uni bag. Studying law requires me to bring a million books to and from home, and also my macbook, so when I saw this bag I thought it was ideal! The bag of this size costs £35 but there is a smaller version available for about £29 (which really makes no sense as it is genuinely about a quarter of the size of this bag!)

This bag was ideal for me, as it could fit everything I needed in it! It is made from PVC, (surpisingly quite durable!) and there is no fooling anyone as it does look plastic, but not in a tacky way. I have found I could put in it my macbook (13" screen) alongside 2 VERY THICK law books, with my usual day to day things such as an umbrella (handbag sized of course) my purse, keys, pencil case, a drink (usually red bull living the student life), glasses case amongst other little trinkets such as vaseline or tissues lol. This was amazing for me, as I have had many bags before, and with almost all of them, after some time the handles begin to tear away at the stitching as my load is just too heavy for the handles to bear but this is the only bag to not quiver at the weight of the load I have to endure myself bringing around 4 days a week!

Inside the bag is a small zip pocket, which in hindsight could be a bit bigger. By the time I put my phone and keys in it the pocket was filled. The pocket is on the opposite side of the bow inside the bag, so I find, even though the bag is PVC I could feel my keys almost stabbing me through in my underarm through the pocket! Another downside in relation to the way the bag is made is the extremely sharp edges! Be careful when on a packed tube train at around 8.45am, if anyone gets too close they may get a sharp corner digging them in the arm (as I was informed on many occasions...oops!). Mine has acquired a small scratch on it (insert sad face here) which I have no idea how it got there, but I am sure a bit of black polish/cream would make it disappear. Also, I am usually a fan of a bag which zips closed, as I am aware of pick pockets and thieves on the squashed tube ride but as long as you are vigilant and keep it tucked under your arm, I think everyone would be happy :)

To top it all off, the bag looks perfectly lovely and elegant, and for the Ted Baker name, £35 is an absolute bargain! I am sure everyone can pick one up at top department stores such as House of Fraser/Selfridges (any with a Ted Baker department, and even online on asos where does good discounts!

                  Advantages

                  Disadvantages

A nice product from Ted baker but could be better

With my children there's lots of extras I need to carry around with me especially as my little girl is potty training and I often need to take a spare change of clothes with me so I decided to treat myself to a bag that is stylish yet able to carry all the things a mummy needs for young children. My bag is similar to the above picture but as they bring new styles out every few months is slightly different. With this bag I also received an umbrella which is very well made and as it is the same design as the bag is a nice accessory especially for the usual Scottish weather we are receiving of late.

While in Glasgow I popped into the house of Frazer and saw this bag reduced to £30 and decided it was the right size for what I needed and I liked the look of it simple yet very nice. It is black in colour which chandelier pictures lightly printed over it although these do not stand out too much they are still visible and give it a little something extra rather than a plain bag. The bag itself is very well made and has lasted well.

It has a pocket on the inside which you can use to store the umbrella you receive with it. This compartment also comes in handy for holding my purse as otherwise I find it hides under everything else in the bag and you have to spend ages searching through to find it. It s not very big but as I mainly use the main compartment of the bag this really does not matter.

It is a very good size and from experience can easily fit an a4 folder in it along with nappies wipes and a change of clothes they sit comfortably inside and it is very easy to remove and put things in the bag. The dimensions are Length 9.6"/24cm, Height 12.4"/31cmWidth , 5.6"/14cm.The handles are rather wide meaning it is very comfortable when sitting on your shoulder and when holding in your hand it is very easy to get a good grip on it without it being uncomfortable.

My only downside is the stitching on the handles have become frayed it does not affect the use of the bag but can look a little tatty and this is not what I expect from a bag that usually retails at about £50. Ted baker usually has a very high slandered of products and I was a little bit disappointed but after constant use the rest of the bag has lived up to my expectation and it simply wipes clean which is a plus from me because it is black dirt does not show easily anyway. This seems to be a common problem with these bags thinks I am a lucky one as some seem to have detached completely which I would have then been hugely disappointed!

Over all I would recommend this bag it is spacious and stylish and does everything I need it to do with only 1 downside it has been a great buy and as I do not own very many bags this one has been used nearly every time I go out for the last 6 months with no problems. It can be a little expensive but it is often on sale so I would try and wait until it is and grab a bargain.

                  Advantages

                  Disadvantages

                  Ted Baker Tote!

I've always loved Ted Baker items as I find them sophisticated and stylish, but still seem to have this fairly 'young' edge about them. I own a few of their bags now, though most of them are what I would call 'handbag' style and therefore although they are appropriate for day to day use I often find that for work or when travelling I need something a little bigger. Around this time Ted Baker had released their 'bow tote' bags, which have now become increasingly popular and are now available in many different designs and colours. At the time of purchase they only had a black bag with a cream bow or a cream bag with a black bow. I opted for the black bag as I thought that this would wear better and wouldn't appear as dirty or need cleaning as often as a cream one may do.

                  ===~~Price and Availability~~===
The larger bow ikon bags are priced at £39, although as mentioned I purchased mine a few years ago (2009/2010) and at this time they were priced at a slightly cheaper £35. Although they have increased in price slightly I still think it is an affordable price and for a large, tote style bag is a fairly 'average' price.

As with all Ted Baker items this is available in store, along with the online Ted Baker store. Ted Baker items are also available in larger department stores such as that of House of Fraser and John Lewis. Personally, I tend to prefer going in store when buying an item as I actually often find there is a wider selection online opposed to in store, however you will not find the online exclusives (should there be any) there.

                  ===~~The Bag~~===
The bag is patent style with a large bow on it which keeps the design simple, yet stylish. Down one side of the bag reads 'no ordinary designer bag' and on the other is a list of cities in which you can purchase Ted Baker items. On the inside of the bag reads 'you've really got a hold on me'. I really like the little sayings Ted Baker add to their products as I think it makes them a little more quirkier and a little different to the norm. The bow on my bag is actually at a diagonal angle on to the side of the bag and you can change the angle of the bow if you like; so it can be moved so that it is horizontal on the bag. I actually prefer the bow in the corner of the bag opposed to the middle of the bag where it is placed on some of the more modern bags. I have purchased the smaller bag with the bow in the middle and this bow does feel a lot more robust and fixed opposed to the bow that is placed in the corner on the larger bag. The bow itself is not detachable. I really like the bow feature to the bag as without it I would personally find the bag a little 'plain' looking. It is very simple looking, yet really works and I think the bow on the bag now makes the bag easily recognised as a Ted Baker as the bow is often associated with the brand.

The bag has two straps on it, which are fairly large meaning that the bag can sit on the shoulders. Despite this I find that due to the size of the bag ( H 38cm x W37cm x D9cm) it is a little uncomfortable to hold here as the bag slightly digs in under the arm and actually feels heavier when carried in this way opposed to other ways. It is also increasingly hard to carry the bag on the shoulders when it is full due to the fact it becomes more bulky, meaning that this bag is not really practical for the use of the shoulder bag. Nonetheless the straps do feel comfortable when held in this way and it is nothing to do with them. They are fairly wide and therefore this means that the weight is distributed evenly. The bag can hold a fair amount and due to the size of it can hold A4 size items. I really like this as sometimes I need to carry around folders or files for work and therefore this bag makes it every easy for me to store it all in without having to carry them around under my arm as I did do previously. I tend to carry this bag in the crease of my arm now as it sits very comfortably here and I do not find it to be bulky when carrying it here. The bag itself is made of quite lightweight material which also makes it very easy and comfortable to carry around- though can become heavy if overfilled. I have tried to carry it just by its handle in my hand, though find it a little too large to do so and find that it is quite close to the floor and therefore looks a little out of place. I also found this bag great for travelling as due to the size I can fit in my make up and wash bag, a spare change of clothes, purse, etc without the need for an extra 'overnight' bag meaning that I find travelling much easier with just the one bag.

There is also one small zip compartment on the inside of the bag, although I have described it as 'small' I can still easily fit in my phone, keys, lip balm, pens with room to spare. I really like having this little compartment as it means all the things I may want to access quickly are all in one quick and easy to access place meaning that I am not digging around the bottom of the bag, which could take a while to find an item due to the size of the bag.

Due to this bag being a patent material it is also very easy to clean and wipe down. Due to me having chosen the black colour I do find that it doesn't get too dirty (or this may be because it doesn't appear as obviously on the black colour) which is a plus, however when it does I find a quick wet wipe makes it come up very clean. Nonetheless I do have a scuff on my bag that has proved near impossible to remove/ wipe off so I think I'll need some sort of patent polish to help this. Despite this, I have found that it does not scuff too easily as I am always plonking it down and brushing it along walls, etc and there are no real noticeable marks other than the one mentioned.

The only down side, is unfortunatley the most important, which is the quality. Where the handles are stitched to the bag mine has come undone over time. This happened about a years use and although I did use it pretty much everyday, I still did expect it to last longer than this as I have 'high street' branded tote style bags that have lasted longer than this. I do not carry particuarly heavy items in mine and tend to only carry one folder at the time; even then it is neither larger nor too full. I think it may actually be due to the fact that when the bag is not in use (placed on the floor) the handles tend to turn in on themselves and I think this weakens the join and therefore the stitching. Personally I would not have expected this from a brand such as Ted Baker and really thought the quality would have been a little better. It cost me £6 to have mine re stitched which although is not excessive, it was something that I was not expecting to pay for. Though I have now found out (due to having problems with another bag- though not from Ted Baker) that if you take the bag back then they can send it off and fix it for free which normally takes five weeks. This is true for House of Fraser, which is where I purchased the bag from, though may differ for other stores; you will also need the receipt for this.

                  ===~~Overall~~===
Overall I do really like this bag and it has been very useful for that both of work and travelling. I find it much easier to put everything I need in this one bag than carry a few bags/ items underneath my arm. The wipe down material makes it very easy to clean, which is perfect for me as I am not exactly the cleanest or tidiest person. I also like the fact that the patent has remained looking very shiny and has not become dull and is not looking worn or tired despite the use I have from this bag. I also like how versatile this bag is as I can also use it as a day time bag and although some people may think it is a little 'large' for this I do not find it looks out of place; though the bag itself can appear a little empty. I really do wish the quality of this item was a little better as having read other reviews on this bag I am not the only one to have had the problem with the stitching. I feel that this bag still deserves three stars as throughout its use I have had no problems with it and it has really helped me to carry and get around all my items. Thankfully it was fairly inexpensive to repair and due to this reason I am still using the bag today, the stitching actually feels a lot more secure now that it has been repaired and the handles actually feel a lot more robust.

Had I not had the problem with the stitching I would have awarded the bag five stars, though as it is I feel I would still recommend it, though it is worth being wary of this problem.

                    Advantages

                    Disadvantages

a great bag where style makes up for functionality

I was thrilled last Christmas when my friend brought me a Ted Baker Bow Tote Bag. Since they were launched I loved the cute look of the bags so was extremely happy to own one myself. My bag is slightly different to the one in the picture, it is the same colour but has the bow to one side and a tied differently.

The Ted Baker tote bags come in different sizes and colours and vary in price from around £25-£50, the bag I have cost £25 (or should I say cost my lovely friend). I think this is slight expensive for a bag made of plastic but I guess you are paying for the Ted Baker name. You can purchase these bags in the Ted Baker stores, on the Ted Baker website or in some department stores like House of Fraser.

I actually only started using my bag about three months ago after my previous handbag had begun to see better days. The bag has one main pocket with a small separate zip pouch inside the bag in case you need to keep anything small a little more secure. The bag does not fasten at all at the top so you do need to be careful when out and about that you do not lose anything and that you keep it safe from anyone else being able to get access to your belongings.

The bag is made of plastic which means that there is not much bend or flexibility, I find this can be difficult when something like my keys fall to the bottom of the bag as it make them hard to fish out. You can fit quite a bit into the bags but it does all mix together as it is just one large pocket. But I think that the great style of the bag makes up for it being not as functional as many other bags. I have had several envious comments about my bag which is great and slightly makes up for the poor functionality.

My bag is Black with a cream bow on the top left corner. The bow has a Black and Gold button in the middle of the bow with the initials 'TB' in the middle in gold writing. On the bottom of the front and back of the bag is the wording 'Ted Baker' in cream scroll writing with 'London' written in capital letters underneath. Then just inside the bag at the top is written 'You've really got a hold on me'. I think this is a really nice little touch and make the bag even more special and stylish.

I would certainly recommend these tote bags, they are not the easiest to use but you can fit quite a bit in them and they just look fab!!

                      Disadvantages

                      A very diappointing purchase

In April of this year I spent a long time looking for a bag to use to carry my work uniform and lunch in and I was quite fussy as I wanted something that was stylish but big enough to carry everything I needed and something that would be durable and long lasting as I would be using it nearly every day.

I eventually settled on this Ted Baker Bow Tote bag which cost me £35 from the Ted Baker website not including postage and packaging. It arrived about three days later in a much bigger than necessary box but I instanly loved it.

The bag itself is made from 100% polyvinly chloride which although it enables the bag to be wipe clean, it also means that the bag is very stiff and doesn't stretch or expand when you put items in it. However, design wise the bag is gorgeous. It is patent black with 'Ted Baker' written in beautiful curly writing along the bottom of the bag while at the top on one side is a cream bow, also made of polyvinly chloride and patent in appearance (identical to the picture above). On the inside there is a smaller zip pocket and above this are the words 'You've really got a hold on me' which I think is really cute.

For a couple of months I used this bag and really liked it. It did everything I wanted it to do and looked good doing it and I used it on more or less a daily basis although the stiffness of the bag didn't ease and if you happen to catch your arm on the edge of the bag it can really scratch. However, I soon noticed that that at the seam where the handle attaches to the bag it had started to come detached and before I knew it, it had seperated completely to reveal a white cloth like material, that was really obvious to see against the black design of the bag. I carried on using the bag for a few more weeks and the seams at the other handles started to do the same thing. I couldn't understand why though, as I had never really over filled the bag and it was never particularly heavy.

I was gutted. I really liked the bag as a whole and given that Ted Baker is a well known, respected and expensive brand I expected much better things and I certainly didn't expect it to break after just two months. I thought at the time that £35 was very reasonable for a Ted Baker bag but surely a cheaper than usual price tag shouldn't mean poorer quality products.

I have since debated whether or not to buy another one, wondering if I just happened to get one from a dodgy batch or something but I don't really want to take the risk of wasting another £35. This has really knocked my confidence in the Ted Baker brand.

Overall, despite it's stiffness I did really like the bag but unfortunately wouldn't recommend it to a friend, who would want a bag that only lasts two months?? I'd give this bag one star, but only because I loved the design and I can't give a lower rating.
