I bought myself a kindle 3 for my birthday last year because I read on average 2 books a week and I do a lot of travelling. I was really impressed right from the get go, because the device itself is very light, smart and sleek. Set-up took no time at all and really just involved charging it up, turning it on and registering yourself. I bought the version that had 3G because I didn't want to have to rely on a WiFi network, but now I'm thinking I could have saved myself some money and just got the cheaper one without 3G. That's not to say that the 3G isn't good, it's brilliant and I haven't had problems with the kindle crashing as some people seem to, it's just that we have broadband at home and so I can easily use the WiFi network.

The kindle itself is brilliant to read from, I don't even notice that I'm not reading from the book and you don't need a bookmark or a good memory, because the kindle automatically opens at the last book you read. It's easy to navigate and organise your collection of books and there are plenty of free books to choose from the get yourself going. Downloading books is almost instantaneous and you will soon have a huge collection. I also like that I can read my pdf files on there as well. In terms of battery it takes a couple of hours to fully charge and with the WiFi turned off you can get a couple months of battery when reading it everyday for an hour.

All in all a great space saver, that means you can read loads of books without having to store them all. The books are reasonably priced and you can be reading the one you want within seconds!
