Apple iPad 2 Wi-Fi 16 GB
Advantages: light, thin and fast
I was contemplating buying an ipad 2 for a while and was umming and erring about the price and if I could afford to buy it up front. Then vodafone seduced me with an offer I could not resist. They said they would give me the ipad 2 upfront, no payments required and all I had to do was pay £32 a month for 24 months. I refused to believe it and did several cost models on excel before it finally proved to me that this was the best option to go for with the internet at that time. Turns out this offer is only available to customers with phone contracts above £35 a month.
Having now owned the ipad 2 for just about 3 months, I realise it is a tool I cannot live without. As part of my training to become a teacher I found I have plenty of research to do for my two essays and one long train ride to school and this gadget has saved my life. The screen is wide enough that I can read my papers in pdf form on ebook and it gives me the option to dim the screen to the brightness that suits me. The ipad is slim enough to fit into my bag without weighing it down like a paper book and means that all my files are saved on it so I cannot lose it like the scraps of paper that mysteriously goes on walkies.
Also when in lectures, I can load the files on the ipad and read the slides at a more comfortable distance. The only downside is that it can be a bit of a distraction in those boring lectures. I also found that it is a comfortable size to type on. It takes a bit of a while to get used to the size of the ipad. It also takes a while to realise where the keys are as you cannot feel them on the screen so you constantly have to check what you're typing to make sure it spells correctly. Once you get used to it it's easier to use and do.
The battery life is also good. I would say I'm a light user on my ipad so it can be used three to four days without a charge. I'm also the type who carries her charger around because I always try to drain the battery till it turns off.
I have to admit I use my ipad more than my laptop, certainly enough that I'm now doing reviews on dooyoo on it without any problems. One of the main reasons is that it's fast to turn on unlike my laptop and so means I can have information at my fingertips faster.
Overall this is one of my most loved products and I do not regret spending the cash on it!
Summary: It's basically one big iphone!
