Advantages: Great Sound, Great Price, Good Features, Good Battery Life, Responsive Screen, Easy To Type On
Disadvantages: Doesn't Run Flash, iPhone Apps Are Pixelated
I purchased this iPad just the other day and it seems to be absolutely brilliant. Compared to a laptop, it can't run flash, and you can't put disks into. It doesn't have any USB ports or anything like that either. However, you can download apps and music from iTunes.
I use iCloud with my iPad and iPhone and the only problem I have found is that if you put iPhone apps on there, you can either play in a small section in the middle that is the size of an iPhone screen or you can stretch it out, which does make it go pixelated.
It has this great feature called photo booth, and you can take pictures through either of the two cameras with lots of different effects. You can download an app called 'Pages' for £6.99, and it is very similar to Microsoft Word. You get all kinds of fonts, templates, and sizes as well. Also, it is compatible with Microsoft Word. So, if you send a PC user a 'Pages' document, they can open it on Word. Also, if you get emailed a Word document, you can open and edit them. You can also use 'iMessage' which is a form of instant messaging between iOS users. This comes as standard on all iPhones, iPods, and iPads that run iOS 5.
The battery life is quite good compared to most laptops. However it does take quite a long time to charge. All laptops make some kind of noise from the fan but the iPad doesn't make any noise at all. It is also a lot lighter than a laptop and much nicer to hold. It is also very easy to type on and the touch screen is very responsive. The Internet is very quick and it loads very quickly. However, like I said before, it doesn't run flash, so you cannot play Internet games and it won't load flash content.
The camera quality isn't that good, but the sound quality is amazing. It is extremely loud and very clear. The layout of music and the settings is different to the iPhones or iPods. It is very easy to use and looks great.
The exterior design is very sleek and modern, and consists of the home button, volume buttons, a mute button, a lock button, a charge port, and a headphone port.
Overall, I wouldn't say the iPad could replace a laptop or a computer. But that depends on what you like to do. If you want to roam the internet, take pictures, download apps and listen to music, then the iPad is definitely for you. Otherwise, I would stick with a PC.
