I wrote on a previous review that I was not an apple fangirl. Having recently purchased an ipad2 I have changed my mind. My husband came home with this last week. They have just been reduced to £329 from £399 due to the release of the ipad3, he'd wanted one for ages and this reduction tipped the balance for him so he gave in and bought it.

I must be honest at this point and say I've never really seen the point in tablets. I mean, they don't have as many uses as a laptop yet cost the same and in some cases more. So I wasn't particularly impressed when my husband brought home his over priced toy. Within a day I was a convert.

Don't get me wrong I would not have this as my main source of internet browsing. I also have a laptop, but for the convenience it can't be compared. My daughter is 11 months old and obsessed with pulling wires. The battery life on the ipad is brilliant, I have charged it twice in a week and it still ahs over 50% battery at this moment. This has eliminated the need to keep my laptop plugged in, a massive bonus for me. I am not very good with technical things so I can't tell you the specs of the processor but for me I find it's perfectly adequate. Not as fast as my laptop but not crippilingly slow.

There is a camera on the back and front but they are rather terrible, photos are grainy and blurred. I have read that it's a 0.3 megapixel. I personally think it was pointless apple putting in a camera of this low quality. It is literally impossible to take a decent quality photograph on it. I have the 16gb version and for what my husband wanted it for this is perfectly adequate. We have a laptop to store our music/photos on but if your using this as your main device then you will need a higher memory version, as it's really not much.

The screen and user interface are simply beautiful. It is so easy to use and the screen is a decent quality. The touch screen is also very responsive and I've had no delays. The best thing for me is that it's light and compact enough to take anywhere. I spend a lot of time over my parents and it's so much easier to take this with me. Another massive plus point for me is that it's so quick to turn on, I'm ready to go almost instantly unlike with loading up a computer. My favourite app is the kindle, this works great on the ipad as theres an inbuilt light. I was debating getting a kindle but now theres no need.

All in all as a main computer I can't recommend the ipad. The lack of flash is a big sticking point for me and I wouldn't give up my laptop for it. For picking it up and browsing facebook and ebay quickly it is brilliant. Yes I can do this on my phone but it's so much easier on here. I'm glad we have it but I still find it hard to justify the price considering I have both a laptop and a smarthphone. Thankfully my husband took the decision out of my hands and I can play to my hearts content
