Where to start? This is the best thing ever!
There are lots of tablet computer devices on the market today. But for me and the majority of the tablet buying public, you just can't get better than the iPad. This is the second generation of iPad, I didn't own the first so I can't compare them. This is so stylish. It's thin yet heavy. It has so many functions there are too many to list, and the functionality is growing by the day as more apps are added, and the new iOS 5 upgrade has made it even better to own.
The iPad 2 has a 9.7 inch TFT screen which is LED back lit. This results it an amazing vivid screen picture with a resolution of 1024 x 768. The screen isn't like a laptop screen it's hard glass. This does mean you have to be a little bit more careful as the screen will shatter if dropped or knocked against with reasonable force.
The screen is a touch screen and is very good at responding to the slightness and lightest touch.
This 64 GB 3G model is the top of the range. It features a 64 GB memory full Wi-Fi, and the 3G part refers to the fact that you must insert a sim card from a mobile provider. This then enables you to use their 3G network weather you're out doors or in. This actually means you don't have to have Wi-Fi at home with this model. You just pay a set amount (this differs for each network) for an allotted amount of download space, the norm is 5G.
I find there to be so many uses for this iPad. It's great for multi page Internet browsing.
It's wonderful for Skype as the built in front facing camera is of the best quality, and the built in microphone is very clear as is the speaker.
There are literally hundreds of thousands of apps (application's) for the iPad. These cater to your every need from booking a Holiday, medical advise, translation, calculation, social networking (the official Facebook app was added recently), bookmaking, educating all the way down to the best games available. Most of these apps are available free, and if there is a charge it's normally a one off small amount.
Sky, BBC, Fox, CNN, all the major world news sources have high tech apps for the iPad. While all major publications, such as your daily newspaper, magazine or a book by your favourite author can be accessed at a touch of the screen via the built in Ebook reader.
The quality of the recordings from the built in high definition cameras is outstanding. Playback on the iPad is like looking out through a window.
I find using the Google street maps app very helpful when booking a Holiday as you can literally stroll around the streets of your destination before you decide to buy and go. You can see what the area is like, the kind of stuff you won't see in a holiday brochure.
The lithium battery used in this is great. It's lasts far longer than a laptop battery. The running time is around 10 hours from just one full charge, this means ten hours of use browsing the Internet over a Wi-Fi signal or playing back video that you have recorded. Show me another device with that kind of battery power.
There are a host of accessory's for this tablet, from the new magnetic Apple cover. Too the Apple TV device.
I can find no faults, only hundreds of positives when it comes to reviewing this beautifully designed, compact tablet computer. FIVE STARS.
