Advantages: Light, portable, many apps.

Disadvantages: Wifi only, shatters easily.

This is unlike any other devise I have ever owned. It is extremely light, light enough to carry around in your bag and not even notice the difference. In fact- I've had books that are heavier than this! This means that it can be carried around daily, which is especially good if you are having a long travel. For example, if you are on the tube, you can easily get it out and play games or read a book on it, without standing out and having to take up too much room.

What impressed me the most with the iPad was the battery life. If you are just using a couple of apps and some music, the battery can easily last you days on end. Normally, Apple products are known for having poor battery life, but this is really where the change is. I normally charge my iPad about every three days, and I watch telly on it and play apps constantly.

The memory on the iPad is more than enough, although if you are thinking of storing a lot of videos on it then you may want to invest in a higher memory one to ensure you can store all this. Following on from this, as the iPad is so light to carry around, you can take videos and pictures easily on the move, meaning you always have a camera on you to capture that moment.

In the App store, there are special apps that are specifically for the iPad, which are very good, as they are designed to be on a bigger screen, so you do not loose any of the effects. There is also a very large range of apps- so there is an app to suit everybody. I particularly love the shopping apps, as they make shopping easy and quick with a big screen and with touch screen. I also find that it is useful you can watch telly with certain apps, making my iPad act as my telly!

The downside to the iPad is that you have to have the internet, which means that some apps won't work if you are not connected. For example, if you are out and about and want to tweet a picture of something, you can't unless you find somewhere to connect to the internet. However, if this really bothers you, then you can get an iPad with 3G and pay a monthly fixed sum for this. Another downside is that it is quite fragile, so if you drop it on a hard floor it will easily shatter, so to get around this you need to ensure you invest in a good case. I have one that fits like a book, and it is amazing, as when you open the book cover the iPad lights up, and when you close it, the iPad darkens, saving battery.

I found that for the price of £400, this was an amazing buy. I cannot count the amount of times that I have used it, and I know that I will use an iPad for the rest of my life. It makes everyday tasks so easy, such as writing a shopping list and to looking up a number and address for a friend. It is much more than a simple device, it contains everything I need to remember!
