When unveiled by Apple, the iPad mini wasn''t a shock to most people who are up to date with technology. I have used my black/slate iPad mini for over a year now and have absolutely fallen in love with it! There are a few main aspects I would like to cover in this review like display, built, and usability. Let''s get started! Although the display is not a Retina display, the 1024*768 display is bright, crisp, and a joy to do everyday things on. Videos look great on the iPad, and images look crisp. The display does have very good viewing angles, gets very bright, and I have no complains. The iPad mini isn''t a single-handed device for many people. The iPad mini, although very thin, is surprisingly sturdy. The back is made from aluminum which helps keep the product light-weight and durable. In my opinion, the design of the iPad mini can not be matched by any other tablet. It has chamfered edges that make the iPad look like a beautiful tablet, a uni-body aluminum design that is sleek and really good looking. The iPad mini is rocking a dual-core A5 chip, which is really fast. Apps and games run really smoothly. It manages to do everyday tasks with ease and it does it well. I can run many apps in the background and it won''t affect the performance. The iPad mini has a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera that takes average pictures. There is nothing to boast about it. The front-facing camera is 1.3 megapixels and is able to capture 720p video. Nothing special about the cameras, but for a tablet they take rather pleasant pictures. I wouldn''t recommend the use of the iPad mini as a primary camera, but for some casual pictures it get''s the job done. Battery life on the iPad mini is amazing! I manage to last days on a single charge. When taking notes the whole day, playing games, and watching movies, the charge only fell from 96% to 60%. Even though the iPad mini is such a great product it does have some flaws. I wish the iPad was a bit more capable when it comes to productivity like a Windows 8 tablet with a split screen multi-tasking mode. To conclude I am going to say that even though the product is a year old and it has been succeeded, the iPad mini is a great product. If you have the chance to buy an iPad mini 2, buy that, but if you can''t or you are on a budget, the iPad mini will not disappoint. But, what about compared to other tablets? Well compared to most 7-8 inch tablets I would have to say that the iPad mini is about par. In some aspects it is a lot better like battery life, apps, and built, but if you want something completely for business then you would be better with a Windows 8 tablet.
