Advantages: Easy to use, large screen, loud ringtone, excellent internet access

Disadvantages: Battery power can wear down quickly if using lots of applications

I absolutely LOVE this phone! I had been looking around for a while for a handset which enabled me to read emails, use the internet and send text messages. Having utilised Sony Ericcson prior to this and had the top of the range camera phones, I decided that in order to further myself with work I would be better to go for a lower specification camera (this is 2.0 Megapixel although the quality of the photos is brilliant) and a handset which offered more 'work type' applications.

I was able to upgrade the handset free of charge with O2 and this arrived 2 days after I had ordered it - Very impressive!

The handset is really easy to use, once I switched it on and charged it up I was amazed at the fact that it was all set up (internet etc and wi-fi was automatically there with no download required) I was able to access my emails by simply entering my email address and password (for my work email account). There are loads of other applications on the Blackberry Bold including Camera - Video Camera - Facility to check Stocks and Shares - Ability to download Word, Excel and Powerpoint documents which you receive as attachments - alarm clock - a range of games - calculator and all of the usual 'standard' accessories - there is also Blackberry Messenger. This is such a novelty application for myself, you can open up the messenger and it works in a similar way to MSN but with other Blackberry Users, you can alter your status on there and chat to people whenever you require - the best thing is that it is free of charge! It is included in the Blackberry Unlimited package, as sold my O2. I am sure that other network providers offer the same or similar package which includes extensive use of Blackberry facilities and customer support and as the name says unlimited use of internet, emails, web browser, maps and GPRS Sat-Nav type location finder.

All in all I would agree with other comments on here - the only downside is the battery life, however if you are using this as a phone and to check emails the battery life, I would consider to be quite comparable to other handsets. I charge my handset most nights, however it is very rarely dead and in 3 months I have not yet had the unfortunate fate of the battery dying on me!

I would recommend the Blackberry Bold to anyone who would be interested in internet access aside from the iphone. My personal preference was to avoid a touchscreen phone and therefore the Blackberry Bold is perfect for this reason. The Qwerty keyboard is really easy to use and very quickly you will pick up the one-key sequencing for letters.

Summary: Great Phone - Really easy to use, good quality screen display and excellent service from Blackberry.

Aww I looked at the Storm but it was only available on Vodaphone and I didnt want to change from O2 - Plus, the fact that it was touchscreen deterred me. Thanks for your comment :o)
