Advantages: Nice music when you are in a queue waiting for customer support!
Disadvantages: Terrible Customer Service
I have got an iPAQ 3970, which I bought in May 2003. Last week it decided not to charge anymore. This is my experience with their customer support: - Saturday: I call them and tell them about the situation. The guy tells me to call on Monday, fair enough. - Monday: I call them again and after waiting 35 minutes for pass through the menus and queues I manage to log the call. They get my contact details and serial number for the device. They say that their courier will come tomorrow to collect it. - Tuesday: It is 4PM and nobody has come to collect it. I call them again and a guy tells me that they don't have my address. What?! So how did you get my details and provided me with a reference number? They say that the only address they have got is "PO Box 4"! How do you think about your customers? Are they stupid?!! They get my details again, and they say that we will prioritise your request for tomorrow. (It seems that they have got a problem with their phone lines since as soon as you comlain about their service the call ends!!) - Wednesday: It is 2PM, still nobody to collect the device. After having another disconnection while I am talking to them, someone tells me that since I have changed my address, the collection will be delayed (multiple days!) Not to mention the fact that it was their fault that they lost my address. They pass me to their LOGISTICS department in France, and give me a telephone number in France. Nice trick! Next time I will be waiting in call queues on an international call!! I call them again, ask to talk to the complaints department, and ask them to confirm my address. OH MY GOD... Wrong address again! How do they do that?! Dear HP DBA!!! Have you set your database mode to read-only?!! I don't know what to do... It seems that HP has decided to discontinue their support for iPAQs as they really suck. (They are fine as long as they work... but as soon as something becomes wrong...
they really SUCK!) Bye bye HP (former Compaq). You just lost another customer!
