The main purspose of this review is to warn others to be extremely careful when attaching a synch/charge cable to the connector at the base of the unit. The pin connector on the base of the unit is quite fragile and can easily be broken, if so Dell say they will not repair the unit but that you have to buy a new one - BUT read on.
I inadvertantly broke my connector when connecting a charger cable to the unit and thereafter could not charge it. I emailed Dell but they said it was not covered by the warranty as I had caused the damage - I was of the opinion that this was a design flaw. I went online to www.aximsite.com and found a thread (*) there where others had done exactly the same, however several had managed to get Dell to replace the unit free of charge, this usually involved speaking to a supervisor (although they would not admit there was a design fault).
I immediately phoned Dell and after a perfunctory attempt to point out it was my fault they agreed to replace the unit in exchange for my broken one, again they made it clear that there was no design fault and this was a one off goodwill gesture. Sure enough the courier arrived next day with new unit and took my unit away. TOP MARKS for customer service but still think design is iffy.

Moral of the tale is that if this happens to you phone them and don't give up till you get a replacement.
In General I have found the AXIM (X3) to be a great PDA and much cheaper than many rivals but be careful.
