	Handspring Visor Deluxe ... have been a diehard Handspring user since they were 1st available. Terrible but true, it is my portable brain and I am lost without it. Imagine my horror when, 3 days before a big meeting, the Visor fell off the desk, onto the floor and the LCD cracked. (Fair disclosure, it wasn't in its case, I had just synched it and sat it on top of some paperwork). I called Handspring and was told to hot synch it again and for $80 I could have the screen replaced. Ouch, lots to pay for a moment of carelessness, but what else to do? I later found out that if a screen is cracked on a Palm its toast, so I was very happy that the screen could be replaced. I called to get the ret... 	Handspring Visor Edge ... needed info at my fingertips notepads, pens, and clipboards were no longer cutting it. I already had a laptop at home, but there were situations when it became inconvenient to cart around. Plus, it is also much easier to share information with people in speaking situations when you have a small handheld device as opposed to a notebook computer. Walter Mossberg from the WSJ recommended the Handspring Visor Edge. Since the Edge uses the Palm OS, there are already thousands of free and shareware programs that you can download from the internet to use with your new PDA. This seemed like valuable advice to me. 	Handspring Visor ... bought my Handspring Visor in the summer of 2000, when they had been around for a year or so, and overall have found it to be a valuable asset. The unit looks a little dated now (Jan 2002), due to the frightening pace the computer market moves at. It is fairly weighty too, but not enough to make you notice it too much in the pocket of a jacket. It comes with a case which clips onto the front of the unit when not in use, and can then be clipped on the back of the Visor. This makes for a rather clumsy first impression, but can be overlooked.
