Advantages: cover, design and look, sound
Disadvantages: type I card slot, not the fastest pocket pc, screen could be improved
The HP Jornada 545 Pocket PC is a beautiful PDA. It looks and feels great. Unfortunately, I've had some rather bad experiences with it: First one I got, the screen kept flickering on/off every few seconds. Obviously I couldn't work with that, so I returned it. Second one I got...wouldn't charge! Which of course was also no use to me so I gave it back again. I then gave up and din't get a third. Putting all that aside, I found the sound quality excellent as well as the home menu layout. Of course not ALL the 545s have problems. If I had to choose between the Casio, Jornada, or Ipaq. The Jornada would come second to the Ipaq. But still pretty cool.

- 25/01/01 A good opinion on the down sides of the jornada, but i feel it doesn't really help to show people the reasons for buying 1. i owned 1 for a while, and had to get it replaced because i dropped and broke it on a concrete floor. apart from that the only problem i've had with my 545 is the fact i can't set up my pop3 email on it! |
