HP iPaq Pocket PC Hx4700 ... The HP iPAQ HX4700 is a PDA (Personal Digital Assistant). In other words, it s a handheld computer. One would be able to use it as an organiser, word processor, MP3 player, gaming device, etc. Basically, most of the things a current PC or laptop would be capable of. The American version is the HX4705 but is identical in every way as far as I know. WHY I CHOSE THE HX4700? I had previously owned a HP iPAQ H5550 PDA, so stuck with the HP brand rather than go for a brand like Dell. Asus and many other companies also make PDAs and build quality varies but you can t go wrong with HP on build quality. Another option would have been to go for a PDA running the PALM ope... HP iPaq 114 ... have had several iPAQs which I primarily used as a portable diary so it would sync my diary with the one on my desktop which my secretary organised. It meant that if I was out of the office I could make an appointment knowing what was already in the diary and when I get back I would just plug it in to its docking system on the desk, the diary would update and she would immediately see the appointment I had put in. It uses active sync. Great. And the idea of having Windows functionality in a palm top was once a real advance. But then the blackberry appeared. HP iPaq Pocket PC H1915 ... is a neat compact unit which looks pretty cool in it s silver casing. Under this nice looking outer are the workings of this little unit, with an Xscale PXA 250 processor this little handheld is probably not the fastest, but it is better than average heading towards the top. It s easy to see TFT screen is 3.5 inches and consists of an active matrix, making the graphics crisp and clear. The device operates through Windows CE 3.0. On powering up the first thing you will notice is that it looks just like a mini PC which indeed it is, the familiar Windows screen is there with the also familiar Start bar.
