Advantages: Microsoft Office Mobile, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth & 624MHz Processor
Disadvantages: Small Main Memory
The HP iPAQ 214 Enterprise Handheld is an advanced piece of kit which you can comfortably take with you anywhere you go, almost like a mini laptop! It actually runs on a 624MHz processor, I remember my first ever PC which was 133MHz, that really does put things in perspective.
The design is very sophisticated with a nice 4 inch TFT touch screen display which is an improvement from HP's previous iPAQ's. It has many I/O for headphones, microphone, voice record and a USB port. So while using this iPAQ you can enjoy using Microsoft Office Mobile and all its applications including Outlook which can be synchronized very easily via the USB or Wi-Fi connectivity.
The Wi-Fi connectivity allows you to access the internet and your e-mail quickly while on the go, providing your in a Wi-Fi hotspot. Wi-Fi is becoming a much needed and extremely helpful technology in almost every mobile gadget available and are located almost everywhere, from airports to hotels and cafes. So it makes it easy to connect virtually anywhere. The Bluetooth on this device is also useful as there are no wires around or in your way. You simply connect any peripheral such as a Bluetooth enables headset or even a keyboard to the iPAQ. This is relatively new on the iPAQ using HP Smart connector which enables this unique business solution.

Overall I have been happy using the HP iPAQ 214 Enterprise Handheld. It's fast and effective but don't expect the same performance as your PC for obvious reasons. It is capable of performing the tasks I require and I haven't had any problems with it. I don't use it a lot but when I do I mainly use the applications and sometimes the internet via Wi-Fi. I have used a Bluetooth compatible keyboard with it, it is very strange as you are using the device as a monitor! But it does work well and if anything is an excellent gadget, and I love gadgets. My only concern would be the memory, it has 128MB main memory and 256MB flash. I would have perfered it had more main memory as that is were all the applications are installed, also you can install further applications if you wish, but with such a small amount of main memory you can only install so much. The iPAQ costs around £300.
