Advantages: Smart, Cheap and ideal to run simple application

Disadvantages: Poor technical specification

It is a slim, elegant PDA, which is quite rigid for a firm grip around the sides. Its strongest plus point is its price and its thin and light design.
Even because of its low spec., what makes RZ1710 stand firmly among the others is its simplicity.

What has it got?
It has latest OS with standard applications like Word, Excel, Messenger, and IE on it. These simple applications works perfectly on it and the basic applications (media playing and IM’s) run happily on it with fine speed. It has WMP, two games “Solitaire and Jawbreaker” and it has a utility for editing images called HP Image Zone. It also has a SDIO/MMC slot that could hold up to 1GB of external storage cards.
Technically it is not the fastest and most advanced handheld available in the market.

Below is some of it tech. spec.
Processor: 203MHz, RAM: 32Mb (out of which 15MB available SDRAM, 10MB flash), Dimensions: 114 x 70 x 13mm, Wire connectivity: 22 pin serial cable, provided with USB and charger cable, it has a 3.5-inch transflective TFT (thin-film transistor)and has a screen resolution of 240x320 pix.
As you can see, main drawback with this handset is its processor speed and the RAM. With such low specification, it is quite inadequate for high applications to run comfortable on it. Another drawback is it does not come with any wireless connectivity. It has got doable MP3 player but what drags its down is its very short battery life and they estimate it to be about roughly 3hours 30 mins once fully charged and to add to the misery the battery is non replaceable. Also battery is used up quite quickly by running certain application like videos an d MP3's.

Price: Dramatic price difference depending on the retailers. Price vary from as low as £95 to £290.

To conclude if you are looking for a smart, solid PDA that can run the simple applications without trouble and is the cheapest one you can get - you have hit the nail at the right spot then.
