Advantages: Looks really nice
Disadvantages: crashes often
Today I will be reviewing MWG Zinc 2 Pocket Pc Mobile phone. This costs £199.99 from the website eXpansys.
I got this last December and it has been great only crashed twice which since its windows isn't bad.
Operating System
The zinc 2 runs Windows mobile 6.1 professional which is a great operating system.
Camera
It has a 2 mega pixel camera which is the thing I don't like as it doesn't have flash and the pictures in the dark are virtually un readable.
Problems?
So far I have had no problems other than the camera.
Software
The phone itself come packed with loads of software and you can also add to this with loads of freeware from various sites. It runs windows media player and has internet explorer.
Memory
It has 200mb of internal storage and I have added to that with a 2 gb Micro SD card.
It has 64MB of Ram and 256MB of Flash ROM in other words it can handle running more than one program at once!
Connectivity
It has built in GPS which can be used with google maps which can be downloaded for free and also has a program which tells you where you are but no map.
It also has Wi-Fi so you can connect to the internet for free anywhere as long as there is a Wi-Fi access point.
It has a really powerful Bluetooth and I find that when I am at school it can find someones phone at the other end of the school.
It also has GPRS which is used for things like T-Mobile Web 'n' Walk
Keyboard
The keyboard on this phone is really nice it is a QWERTY full keyboard and is illuminated blue from the back. The one thing I don't like about the keyboard is that the space bar is the same size as the normal keys.
Screen
The phone has a full size(2.8") Touch sensitive screen which has great colour and light so you can use it in the sun or dark without any problems.
Sound
I find that the sound on this phone is brilliant can go really loud and depending on what quality of music you are playing is really good. It comes with a hand free headphone kit which has great quality audio and fits into most people ears.
Operating Time
This phone has great battery life on standby it lasts up to 260 hours and talk time of up to 6 hours I find that when running Wi-Fi it lasts around 2 days
Summary
All in all this is a great phone for a great price most pocket pc phones cost over £250 so for £199 this is a great price. I recommend this to everyone.
