Advantages: Great online community, screen quality, range of features, many applications
Disadvantages: Sometimes you may need to find a work around to get the best from this device
Nokia's 3rd device in its internet tablet range. The nokia N810 is featured with a qwerty keyboard, bluetooth, a touchscreen, wifi, a webcam, GPS, and a mini SD card reader.
The N810s screen has a high resolution of 800 x 480, this gives the device very sharp picture quality, the N810s screen size is 4.13" this is extremely big for portable devices. The N810 itself is very slim and lightweight making it perfect for carrying around.
The N810 is not perfect though as you may need to find a few work arounds to get it to its full potential. Luckily the N810 runs on Maemo, which has an extremely helpful community that can be found at www.maemo.org, the online community often have help on how to get the best from your device. With their help and a little time you can fix any problems you once had with this device.
Internet browsing on the N810 is not blazing fast but fast for a portable device. Because it supports flash sometimes websites with heavy flash applications can slow it down, but flash support can be turned off to speed up load times, flash support is not supported by most other portable devices.
The GPS in england can take quite a while to lock on but this can be improved by using an application from the Maemo website.
The qwerty keyboard on the N810 is soo much better than using an on screen keyboard like on other devices.
With the help of the Maemo community the N810 can do allot more than expected or was designed to do, for example it can run Debian, Android, KDE and windows 3.1, it can also use usb or bluetooth keyboards.
The N810 is a good all rounder it can play music and videos, view pictures, browse the net and much more, there are many applications available allowing the N810 to do much more.
Summary: A very good device
