O2 xda II mini ... MB 2.8" TFT - IrDA, Bluetooth - GSM 900/1800/1900 / Packed with features and benefits that even the most discerning techies will appreciate, the O2 Xda II mini is a meltdown of all your wildest digital and gadget wish lists this Christmas: a full-function PDA, a trendy mobile phone, a digital camera and an MP3 player. Housed in a stylish matt silver-white casing not much larger than a deck of cards, the O2 Xda II mini becomes your mobile office, digital entertainment center and fashion accessory all rolled into one compact handheld.

Compared to the O2 Xda II, the O2 Xda II mini is about two-thirds its size... at two-thirds its price, with as much functionality. This improved PDA-phone runs on the faster Intel PXA 272 416MHz processor, and is powered by the second edition of the Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 Pocket PC Phone operating system. This means you can have popular tools and applications like Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer, and PowerPoint and PDF viewers at your fingertips; and create, edit or view files and messages in landscape or portrait mode.

For such a small device, the O2 Xda II mini also gives you ample space to store plenty of contacts, files and messages. But for those of you who are addicted to program and media downloads, there's good news. Each O2 Xda II mini comes bundled with a free 256MB SD memory card, which you can slide into the MMC/SDIO slot to boost storage capacity.

If you want to touch base with someone, you have several options. You can call, SMS, MMS picture message, email, or chat with them using MSN Messenger. You can keep up to date with everyone, and know what's new with them no matter how near or far they live.

Besides using the O2 Xda II mini to satisfy your business and social needs, you can also use it to unwind, relax and have fun. For example, the built-in 1.3 mega pixel camera lets you capture compelling memories and artistic visions with increased resolution. It's effortless. Just point and click. If you wish, you can use Multimedia Album and Picture Editor to manage and edit those images, and share them via MMS, email, Infrared, Bluetooth 1.2, or Wireless LAN using an optional WLAN card.

If you can't live without music, the O2 Xda II mini is an ideal device for you. It is a complete digital entertainment center. With the latest version of Windows Media Player 10, you can chill to the world's largest collection of digital music and MP3 files, or watch high quality MPEG-4 video clips comfortably on the device's 2.8" 65K-color TFT-LCD touch screen.

Premium Review O2 xda II mini: O2 XDA Mini s (HTC Wizard) (596 words)

Rating:

O2 XDA Exec Mini s (HTC Wizard) I have had this phone now for 12 months on a contract with O2. The phone is a slide design with pullout keyboard keeping in line with the majority of designs of the traditional PDA phone look. The size is not bad with the dimensions being approximately L x W x D 108 x 58 x 23 mm. It does however appear a bit on the "chunky" due to the slide out keyboard. The screen displays at resolutions of 320x240 so it's not that bad but lacks the clarity of other pocket pc resolutions of other PDA's that have been produced. The phone runs Windows Mobile 5 Pocket pc. It includes software to allow you to SMS, ...  Read the complete review

Ok this is my first review so if its a bit confusing I'll say sorry now, I'll give it my best. OK here we go. Well the XDA 2 it really is a great piece of work. First of I'll give you a list of the ins and outs. 1) It has a huge screen which pretty much takes up the whole phone. 2) There is no keypad for you to get your fingers round. 3) It is all touch screen that also comes along with a small pen type that just slots into the top of the phone. 4) Very easy to use, I will admit it is quite big BUT it will fit in to the side pocket of your handbag or in the inside pocket of your coat. 5) It has Internet on it. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review O2 xda II mini: A PC on your phone (well almost) (446 words)

I got the O2 Mini XDA II s mobile phone for a bargain price off O2's website - £49.99 @ £19/month for 12 months. There is NO way it can be had at a lower price. So that is one up for this PDA phone. The performance of this phone is so slow, and it just freezes. Sometimes I feel like smashing it. But of course the correct solution is to hit the reset button, which is not ideal. Which brings me to the next point. After the reset, it will take about 2 minutes before it will be ready. Features wise, it is pretty much Windows Mobile, so if you are a PDA user, there is nothing much to say about it. Other than it is SLOW. The main selling point for this ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Things To Do With An XDA II (293 words)

I got my XDA II a few months ago now, before the XDAIIi and XDAIIs came out. In short I'm very happy with my purchase, not only does it do all the cool phone functions I want but It also does a load of really cool pocket PC stuff. So here's Tom's list of fun things to do with an XDAII: Firstly try out http://www.handango.com, you can download a bunch of cool games and software straight away and pay online. I got Age of Empires and Sim City there. Two nice games which you can play on the go. Not willing to pay any more money? Try out http://www.tucows.com, they have a variety of shareware and freeware products that you can either have for ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review O2 xda II mini: A comprehensive solution (141 words)

Bought one a couple of months ago. Fully loaded - well happy, use it as a mobile office as well as a SAT NAV having loaded Tomtom Navigator 3 onto it. Its got the lot - email, internet access, Word, Excel, PDF viewer, a decent digital camera and obviously its a phone! Only thing missing is wireless LAN but the Active Syn is adequate for file exchange. I went for the buy it for £130 and go on an O2 200 package (£30 a month for 12 months). 400 free mins for first 3 months then 200 mins free each month cross network. I bought the Aluminium case to protect it - strongly recommend due to exposed screen susceptible to damage quite easily especially if ...  Read the complete review
