Packard Bell PocketGear 2060: ... the software nice and easy. The left-hand side of the machine also has a one-touch record button, and a recessed reset button. The top of the unit has a headphone jack, infrared window, microphone, on-off button and two LEDs: one for event notification, and the other to indicate charging. The short and stumpy stylus initially raises an eyebrow, but telescopes out to be long enough to be useful, although it...

... to infringement concerns with Palm, Royal revamped the newer DV1 (1 Meg) and DV4 (4 Meg) units. These are not full blown PDA’s, but more appropriately are a replacement for a paper planner, and this may become Royal’s daVinci’s niche. The DV’s have a to-do-list/priority level/status, name/address/other info, planner/calendar/reminder, calculator/exchange rate, notes, info search and world time. These features have the basic functions, but being basic makes it somewhat intuitive to use. This makes the DV units suitable for persons not wanting the complexities of never used optional features of other PDA’s, does not have time/want to...

... a few (bizarre) Japanese add-ons are available, that were written for the DS2, but work fine on the REX6000. Bearing in mind that this does most of the things you'd expect from a 2Mb PDA (touch-screen, data input, PIM sync, web-clipping, Add-Ons), and is about the same weight and dimensions as a standard PC card, and runs on 2 watch batteries, I think the current lack of English games and other add-ons is largely irrelevant. However, even though my REX was an amazing device straight from the box, I have still added many add-ons, and look forward to many new ones as more and more developers get involved with the REX6000. Data input on the REX is done via a mi...
