Advantages: Great programs, loads of memory

Disadvantages: Design niggles, fiddly docking

I did my homework before buying my Series 5 two years ago. I liked the idea of a comparatively large keyboard, and the variety of different functions, from the Agenda, to Word and the database.

They haven't disappointed - I love the database in particular as it's so fast for numbers/emails etc. I also love the freeware available to download - from a First Aid directory, to a section on Trivia and an Italian dictionary.
I also find the batteries last ages - unless you use the backlit screen.

On the downside, the machine just isn't robust enough! The clip that holds the stylus is always slipping so you risk losing it; the coating on the old machines rubbed off very quickly and looked odd; my screen has sometimes stopped working for short periods; and the battery compartment is cracked.

I also find docking with my PC a real pain - there's just a cable whereas I'd prefer a docking station similar to those on a Palm Pilot.

Overall though it goes everywhere with me - I use it for revision for exams (having downloaded essays onto it); for writing on the move; and the diary/to do lists are essential.

But Psion ought to build a sturdier machine next time.
