This has got to be one of the most disappointing phones i've ever had. Prior to purchasing the phone i did so much research and shopped around everywhere. Finally i got my QTEK 9000/Dopod 900, i-mate Jasjar, O2 Xda Exec, Orange SPV M5000, T-Mobile MDA Pro, Vodafone VPA IV (yes it does have that many different names!). Most of the reviews said it was excellent as a PDA and that's exactly what I needed. It was such a step up from the days of the black and white Psion series 10 or whatever they called them. Also costing me around £599 brand new, I expected a lot. The looks were quite simply stunning, like no other phone id seen at the time. It had the unique clamshell design (weighing IN AT a hefty 285g) that looked like a miniature laptop with a hinge that allowed the screen to rotate and swivel 360 degrees. And with its large 3.6" 640x480 full VGA touch screen LCD (WHICH was easily visible outdoors) Video calls looked amazing, pity about the 1.3 mega pixel camera. The device also featured a 520MHz Intel processor, Microsoft office, windows media player 9/10, mobile antivirus free for a year, wifi, active sync, full backlit qwerty keyboard (that was nicely spaced that looked good and felt solid, and 128MB (of which about 43MB is actually available to use) of Memory and was capable of holding another 4 GB on SD card (allegedly). To be honest this PDA was well ahead of its time and personally it looked a lot better than the huge almighty Nokia communicator (not the current model of course). To top things off there was a huge list of applications and games available as well as tom tom 6. This had to be the best phone ever made, right? Well sadly not! In fact in my opinion, as much as I loved this phone, it was a disaster! Quite simply, due to the windows mobile 5 operating system. Nothing would ever work properly such as video calls, internet, Skype, MSN, MMS and the list goes on! Even though it was de-branded/unlocked it was just so unstable and most of the time when it did function it was very slow indeed. The RAM was so bad I had to use pocket mechanic to clean it every time i used the wifi (and yes that did work). As a phone it did function reasonably but on the whole i would not recommend this phone to anyone because all it will bring you is misery. I eventually dropped mine and the screen cracked, which was a blessing in disguise! Even to this day 3 years on it still retails for around £100- 150 from eBay or £200 on amazons website it just goes to show how desirable these phones are.
