Review of Samsung Galaxy Note Version 10.1
I am a really big fan of Samsung's gadgets, as I have previously owned a Samsung Galaxy Ace and Samsung Galaxy S3. I was so pleased with the Samsung brand that I decided that I would try out a Samsung Tablet as well! I brought the Samsung Galaxy Note Version 10.1 from Tesco Direct for £349 in May 2013. The Samsung Galaxy Note Version 10.1 is able to connect to Wi-Fi and has a capacity of 16GB. The model number of the Samsung Galaxy Note that I brought is GT-N8010. The capacitive touch screen of the Samsung Galaxy Note is truly remarkable. The Samsung Galaxy Note Version 10.1 is available in the colours deep grey, white and grey. I brought the white version of the Samsung Galaxy Note.
Reviewing the specifications of Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1
The operating system of the Samsung Galaxy Note is Android 4.0/ Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and this operating system functions really well. There is one expansion slot for the microSD and one USB 2.0 slot. One pair of high quality earphones was also provided. The screen size is excellent and this displays the graphics very effectively.
The S Pen
The tablet comes with a brilliant and very user-friendly S pen which you can use to write notes on the Samsung Galaxy Tab. The S Pen is very innovative and is very accurate when you are using it on the Samsung Galaxy Tab.
The rear facing camera of the Samsung Galaxy Note is 5 megapixels and the front facing camera is 1.9 megapixels. The capture formats include jpeg, gif and png. You can edit the photos using Adobe Photoshop Touch and I have taken some fantastic pictures using the Samsung Galaxy Note on my recent holiday. The built in web cam is excellent for those Skype sessions.
Protecting and storage of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1
I use a lint free cloth to clean the screen of the Samsung Galaxy Note. I have also purchase a screen protector and leather case to protect the Samsung Galaxy Note from scratches to the screen and damage. The material that it is made out of very wipe able and the Samsung Galaxy Note is very clean and always looks brand new. The Samsung Galaxy Note is very light and so far I have never dropped it!
The battery of the Samsung Galaxy Note has a capacity of 7000 mAh. The standby time is 1500 hours. The battery is made of lithium ion and polymer. So far the battery usage has been very good and I only have to charge the Samsung Galaxy Note every other day.
I would definitely recommend that you buy the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 as it is very user-friendly and has a very receptive and responsive screen!
Make A Note Of This One
Tablet computers are the latest desirable tech item to have. Most associate this with the Apple iPad but these days, mostly thanks to Google's Android operating system, there are many viable alternatives. Samsung tablets have a good reputation, but the note has a little something that the other ones don't, e.g. a special pen, we'll get to that later.
The note itself has a 10" screen so is comparable to the iPad and similar in that respect. The resolution is 1280 x 800. So this does not really compare to the latest generation iPad and the so called "Retina" display or the amazingly high resolution displays of the latest Google Nexus range. Of course the up side of this is that the screen uses less power and consequently doesn't need such a big battery making it lighter.
The engine room of the note is by no means lacking. It boasts a 1.4 quad core processor that makes it one of the more powerful tablets on the market currently, of course this moves so fast it's impossible to keep up. I have found the response of the note to be excellent, apps to run very fluidly with no noticeable lag.
The version of Android installed is 4.1.2, also known bizarrely as Jellybean, you may have noticed that the version names have been going up alphabetically. This means it will run practically any apps available on the Google Play store. It is very stable and easy to use. I have had no difficulties whatsoever and it's also quite flashy. The on screen keyboard is also very nice to use and has next word prediction.
The batter life of the note is very respectable at about eight hours from a full charge. I have used it extensively for both work and pleasure and have not felt the need to charge has been too frequent.
The key selling feature to the Galaxy Note is the S-Pen. This is not just a stylus, it won't work on any other tablet. The screen is designed specifically to work with the S-Pen and Samsung have included software to take advantage of it. This includes hand writing and equation recognition. The responsiveness of the pen is excellent, you can tell it's specifically designed for this use. The recognition software is also highly accurate.
The Note has a 5 Megapixel rear camera and a 1.9 Megafixed front facing camera. I've not used the 5MP camera but have used the front one when using Skype and found it to be perfectly adequate. I can't really see the point in using a tablet as a camera when a regular camera is so much more convenient, will probably has an optical zoom and you don't look like a fool using it.
I have the 16gb version, but this can be expanded with a Micro SD slot. This is a great addition and helped me decide to get the note over the Nexus 10 or iPad that do not have card slots to expand the disk space. There is no USB port on the note, but you can cheaply purchase an official adapter which plugs into the power socket, giving you a removable USB port. This adapter also comes with an SD card reader adapter.
The Samsung Galaxy Note is a worthy addition to their range of tablets and I find very useful when I don't want to use my laptop or need to work on the move. It is a high performance tablet, it's very responsive and well built. The design is appealing, and I have found it comfortable to use for both work and pleasure. Many apps are now being customised for tablets so most look great.
The S-Pen has come in very useful for me for my work, I find it great to be able to quickly jot down notes and the equation recognition and transcription app has been a godsend to me, I know that will be of limited interest but it's impressive. Video play back is excellent and with a stable Wi-Fi connection is lag free.
I am very pleased that I purchased the note over other tablets. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to be more productive on their tablet. It does everything I wanted and much more besides.
I bought this tablet for myself at xmas. I wanted this rather than and ipad because I could use flash player on the Samsung and apple doesn't support flash player.
All family members have ipads and after using my Samsung galaxy note, they all said that they prefer the Samsung.
It is a great size and with the 10.1" screen its great for reading ebooks and is fantastic for watching tv and films.
The s pen is a great addiction also to be honest I haven't really used it a lot, but it's nice to know its there if I need it.
it has a screen split feature which allows you to view to things at the same time on the one screen which is very handy if your watching football or something and playing a game or something at the same time.
The quad core processor is so fast and handles everything you throw at it with absolutely no lagging or screen blurring.
I have also connected it to my 42" tv and it does so really easily, and have also connected it to my printer using the usb adaptor that I bought on amazon for only a couple quid.
I cannot recommend this tablet enough, I have hardly had to use my laptop since I bought this tablet.
the battery life is around 9 to 10 hours which is onpower with the ipad.
the wifi is really strong and holds the signal well.
I downloaded the maxthon web browser which supports flashplayer, because the built in browser didn't have built in flash, which I thought it had. but this was no problem to sort, by just downloading maxthon for free from the google play store.
there are 2 built in speakers at the front of the tablet, one on each side of the screen, and they are quite loud, deffinately on power with the ipad. and I love the built in music player which has a mood cube feature which allows you to play your music based on the mood your in.
when I bought this Samsung were offering £50 cash back which I had to claim 30 days after purchasing, which was really easy to do, by scanning my receipt and emailing it to Samsung as an attachment on the claim form and just over a month later I had the £50 transferred into my bank account.
I cannot recommend this tablet enough, just go and buy one and forget about ipads.
I have bought this note and I am so not regretful, actually I'm very thankful that I bought this note. It has many features that i will talk you through but one thing i would like the most about this note is that the s-pen which in other words, smart pen. When your screen is locked and you remove the s-pen, it unlocks by itself. Also you it acts like a mouse,if you just want to hoover over things then you use this pen, all you have to do it hold it in quite a close distance.
The other thing is the s-note which also means, smart note. I love this so much this application is great, especially if you go school this is great to take quick notes. You can make a magazine, story and a recipe ect. Again you can use the pan to write.
The main job of this note and the main reason that makes this an individual is the fact that you can open up two things in the same time. When your typing you can make the keyboard smaller and drag it to wherever you wish. There is also an option to write by hand-writing.
The camera quality is okay, I wouldn't say its THE BEST however it's okay and i bet most of you will have digital camera's anyway. If you don't then the camera on here is still great.
The note is an android which means you can download apps from Google play store. There is over a million apps on Google play store so it is very certain that you would like a game especially when your on a big screen the joy of games is even better.
The note is also capable with 3D stuff so you can open up 3D video's, I'm still not really sure weather you would need 3D glasses or not however you could investigate. You can put widgets onto the main screen so its easier to access all of your favourite applications.
