Introduction:

not long ago I parted company with my Ipad, I sold it because I was a bit short of cash. My girlfriend and I felt lost without a tablet so We decided to save up for a new one. We initially wanted a cheap tablet, but seeing a few adverts for these we decided to investigate.

Price:

My girlfriend works as tesco so we get the 10% discount, we decided to look at the tablets they had on offer and we saw this was reduced down to £238, this was a brilliant price seeing as we got the discount too. They are very competitively priced against the other tablets and are a slightly cheaper price than the Ipads. I was happy to pay the £238 pounds as this was less than I was expecting to pay. For the money you get the Tablet, A charger with a lead and the box! The size of the tablet we have is 16gb which is plenty of space for all my games and apps.

Style:

We picked up the white tablet which instantly stood out from the shelf. It really looks smart and shiny and much nicer than I expected. The tablet is longer and thinner than the Ipad, but I think this is better because when using this in landscape mode, web pages, apps and games look much better. This has two speakers down either side at the stop which also adds to the style of the tablet. It is very leightweght and when sitting with this on your lap you can hardly even feel it is there. There is a camera on the front and the back. The back is very smooth and is all white, I like how it feels when you hold it too. It fits nicely into my hands.

Android:

The operating system is excellent and very user friendly, you can personalise the home screens in any way you like. You can use apps or widgets on the home screen! there is much more flexibility with designing what your tablet looks like than with the ipad which is rigid. The widgets are excellent, you can get ones which show your new mail, the weather, time etc. You have the samsung apps store and Google play app store. There are so many apps which work with this and you will find all the usual ones you want such as facebook and angry birds! Its really easy to use. The screen is very touch sensitive and easy to select things on screen.

Wifi:

This connected very easy to my Wifi and its works very fast. web browsing is so easy and I have downloaded Google chrome which works so fast and looks great. web pages are very bright and clear and this also has flash player meaning it is very user friendly with almost any website you want to go on. I am very pleased with how good this is for using the internet and it also downloads apps and songs quickly.

No itunes:

at first I was a bit worried that I would be lost without itunes, but I got over that pretty quickly, I hardly ever use my tablet to listen to music so its not a big deal. You can still purchase songs on this but it uses the samsung store. I have my iphone for itunes so its not a big deal. The app store on the galaxy is just as good as the apple app store and the apps are reasonably priced.

Battery:

This is meant to last around 9 hours use, I would say it is pretty accurate as it will last the whole day of me using this, it charges up over a long period of time which I usually do over night. The battery life is not as good as the Ipad but I see this as the only real downside to the product. It still is much better than a laptop or a phone so I don't think this should put you off at all.

Overall:

I love my galaxy tablet as it is stylish, works fast and can do all the same things as an ipad can do. The screen is HD and you can tell. These are cheaper and do the same things. If you are used to apple products this can take a bit of getting used to, after a while I prefer this. You can even put your own microsd card into this and import your own files. There is more flexibility with this than the Ipad. This is a genuine Ipad beater and I can't believe these are not as popular, they are cheaper and look fantastic! This gets 5 stars from me, the perfect tab for a brilliant price, can't beat this.
