I'm using this tab 3 years ago and i'm still using it. Why? The Size, weight, the appearance (white very pretty), clarity of display, layout, battery capacity (ohhhh), speed of charging, ease of use with bluetooth devices and pre-installed apps all very good.
Easy to connect with wifi's poor signale however i can Reading/Creating/Editing Word, Excel, Text Files and much more on this tablet: This comes with a good app for reading Office documents, but you cannot create or edit them on that. Therefore, I installed a FREE APP called Polaris Office from the Playstore (it reads, edits and creates Office files and reads PDF files). This app is a MUST have for tablet owners in my opinion.
-) Home Videos - The stock video player is OK and plays MOST home videos, however, may I suggest MX Player, this is a free App from Playstore and it plays every home video I tried). Also wondershare Video Player is very good, however,i prefer MX player
-) Music Player/Sound Quality - Stock player has clear sound through the outside "speakers" are really good and i love it.
-)Battery Life+++ Excellent, so far, however, this is what I have found: When I am on WiFi, I go to the websites I need and then as soon as I am done (reasonable time), I exit the browser (or YouTube, etc) and TURN OFF WiFi. However, I run my brightness at 100%. So this seems to keep the battery going longer.
Disadvantages: I think it Can't charge from a pc and Can't use a plug in keyboard and mouse as with the 8" Tab the only desadvantages founds.
I brought this a month after buying an Ipad air, which I got as I intended to use it for note taking for a course I was doing. The problem with the Ipad was the pen. It was so difficult to write anything with any great east, and for me, it's use was limited.
With the Galaxy, the problem of note taking (and writing/drawing in general) is significantly improved upon over any other tabs on the market. In this respect, the Galaxy is streaks ahead. Writing fluidly and at speed is easy, and making comprehensive notes that can be saved, and accessed in an easy to find way, really is a pleasure.
The problem for me now is that with my course work finished, I am left with a tab that functions just as any of the Apple tabs do. It's a browser, game player, camera and so on. In all but the latter category, the Galaxy falls some way behind it's strongest competitor.
I've also noticed that over time, the battery life is some way behind the Ipad, and once dead, it takes a good half a day to power back up. The On/Off switch also broke on mine and gets stuck in if you depress it too hard
