I brought this a month after buying an Ipad air, which I got as I intended to use it for note taking for a course I was doing. The problem with the Ipad was the pen. It was so difficult to write anything with any great east, and for me, it's use was limited.
With the Galaxy, the problem of note taking (and writing/drawing in general) is significantly improved upon over any other tabs on the market. In this respect, the Galaxy is streaks ahead. Writing fluidly and at speed is easy, and making comprehensive notes that can be saved, and accessed in an easy to find way, really is a pleasure.
The problem for me now is that with my course work finished, I am left with a tab that functions just as any of the Apple tabs do. It's a browser, game player, camera and so on. In all but the latter category, the Galaxy falls some way behind it's strongest competitor.
I've also noticed that over time, the battery life is some way behind the Ipad, and once dead, it takes a good half a day to power back up. The On/Off switch also broke on mine and gets stuck in if you depress it too hard
