I've had this tablet for about nine months and it's fully operational, has an amazing screen, and is exactly like it was when I bought it which has no connection to me maintaining it.
In comparison to Apple it's got a significantly lower price, and is equipped with games and functions such as Microsoft, Cut The Rope, Book Store etc. for free, whereas you would have to pay for them on apple.
The best part about it, is that it doesn't need other products that sync. with it to be Samsung/Android, it just connects with ease. It also has it's own cloud, and an anti-glare property for it's HD substantially large screen which is very useful to help prevent damage to the eyes.
Carrying it around is no problem and it has a variety of functions and tools very similar to, if not the same as the ipad. In which case it is a lot better. The only downside is that in comparison to the Android Phone's picture quality it has a very small amount of megapixels and so it's photos aren't always the best.
For being a digital assistant 24/7, I would say it was well worth the buy.
I purchased this item for my birthday last year. Quite frankly, I dont know much about tab, computers etc but enough to do what the basic stuff like order online, play some games and google and surf the net every now and then. If this is what you usually do, then the galaxy tab is fine for this sort of jobs.
In the last 9 months, it has been very reliable, easy to use and to handle. My 10 year old set it all up so surely it can't be too difficult to do even for the least technophile amongst us. He set up the google account and put up the apps as well as the setting of the display, again this was very straight forward to do.
The downside of the tab is that it is relatively heavy to keep in your hands for a lomg time so this is an ussue if you use the tab as an e-reader as well.
The other negative point is that as the Galaxy tab is an android device, not all apps work or get an update as quickly as it would be for ipad technology. My smurf game for instance is always one step behind in the update process but it is not a big deal to me.
The other thing is that my husband has an I phone so all contacts, e books orders etc dont get linked up with my galaxy but this is not a big problem for me either.
So all in all, I would say, this is a great product but I would recommend to stick to Apple if you already have ypur other technolgy devices with Apple.
Just after Christmas my Apple laptop died and so I was without internet for a few days until my husband bought me this lovely Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 that I am writing this review on now. Whilst we could still use a laptop, we were not willing to pay the price of a brand new laptop at this point in time and as I really only use the internet to Facebook, email and internet shop, a fancy Apple laptop was too much for my needs.A samsung galaxy tab is a tablet on which you can access the internet, play games, read books etc. What I really like about it is that its small, much smaller than an iPad and so it slots into my handbag perfectly and is easy to take out and use on th3 go. What I like about the size is that I can hold it with my hands either side and can type perfectly without having to move my hands. The screen is big enough though that anything you are looking at is big enough and easy to read.As im not very good at the technical stuff I will quote the wording from the back of the box this tab came in. "Samsung's new galaxy tab 3 has become slimmer yet provides better performance. With a wide screen, you'll love having your tab while enjoying entertainment in hand wherever you go thanks to a variety of Apps. Also physical key makes you do any entertainment seamlessly."
The tab is a touch screen which I like because its easy to keep clean and has a sleek look to it as there is no keyboard. When you do want to type a touch keyboard pops up at the bottom and is a querty keyboard so is easy to use and type quickly on. The keys are fairly well spaced so even if you have quite fat fingers you don't end up pressing keys you don't want to.I find sometimes the tab is not as responsive on the touch screen as it could be, there are often times when I need to press a selection quite a few times before it takes so that is a bit annoying. At the bottom of the tab there is a thin button that you can press to take you back to the home screen which is a good way to always go back to the beginning if you need to. There is also a touch screen back arrow that lights up and takes you back a page. Sometimes this can be annoying though as its right where I hold my tab and sometimes I touch it by mistake.
The tab has a 5MP AF + 1.3MP camera (not too sure what that means but I've copied it from the back of the box) and it takes really good pictures in my opinion. The camera is an icon on thr front screen and so you just need to press it in order to stsrt the camera function. The photos are really clear and crisp and look great on the big screen. The camera is easy to use although if you have a screen cover protector you do need to make sure this is not at the back otherwise the lens is covered. To operate the camera and take the shot there is a touch screen image of a camera that you just press and the snap is taken and then you can find the taken photo in your gallery app. The tab comes with a charger which plugs into the bottom of the tab. I find that this charges fairly quickly and will keep its battery power well. I use mine on and off all throughout the day and do not need to charge it up every day so I think that's great. The tab comes with a lot of free apps such as calculator, weather, contacts etc but then its very easy to sewrch for new apps and install them. I've had this tab now for a couple of months and in searching around the internet I've discovered that various websites have free Samsung Galaxy apps such as shopping websites such as Dorothy Perkins for example and so these are great to install too.All in all I've found this a really great little toy and a fun way to access the internet and reply to my e-mails!
I got my tab 3 10.1 in august 2013 and have been delighted with it. It is light weight but has a huge screen. It's fast and easy to use. I have always used andriod phones and my partner has a samsung smart phone, so could get to grips with the tablet very easily. I have since recommended it to my dad and brother, who both went out and bought one each after having a go on mine. I have 100s of photos saved on the tablet and pages and pages of apps, and its never got full yet. The only issue I have sometimes is that an app will suddenly close for no reason. To begin with, I thought it was an issue with a specific app, but it does it with quite a few. This is only a small hiccup though, as a whole, the tablet is fantastic. The tab 3 is a great price in relation to similar apple products available. We did a lot of research before buying this tablet and think its by far the best one available in this price range.
