Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Unresponsive, slow, clunky
I got this phone because I had a good contract offer with Vodafone and while I really wanted an iPhone this was dubbed as the next best thing, the 'iPhone killer'. It's not. Compared to the iPhone this handset is very limited.
The touchscreen created the biggest problems. It is unresponsive and slow, and very awkward. The stylus is available but I hate using them because they are fiddly and not really worth is with this phone. The battery life on this phone is terrible - it never seems to stay fully charged for more than five minutes even when let to run down then charged over night.
When I was sold this phone in the shop I was told the Opera internet system was excellent and rivalled the iPhone's internet access. In reality it is slow and clunky, and I prefer to use the slightly better but not brilliant Interent Explorer on the phone. The internet runs very slowly on this phone - since getting it I have replaced it with a Samsung Tocco which is lower down the range but much faster at connecting and running on the internet. In fact the Tocco is a superior phone in every way being more responsive, smaller and sleeker.
I have always liked Samsung phones because of how easy they are to use, but the Omnia feels nothing like a Samsung. I was very disappointed with this phone to the extent that I traded it for a Tocco. I wouldn't recommend this handset.
