Advantages: Good size, loads of features
Disadvantages: Phone calls to loud at times
The Samsung Omnia 'Smart Phone' is, in my opinion, one of the best on the market at the minute. To start with the phone is a reasonable size (slightly smaller than the i-phone, slightly bigger than the equivalent Nokia), light weight and of stylish design.
I was slightly reluctant to go for a Microsoft OS, as I'm not the biggest Microsoft fan, but they seem to have got their mobile OS right. It's easy to use and doesn't seem to have many glitches. It also means that the phone comes with the whole Microsoft package - Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Media Player, etc.
The screen is large and the touch screen is responsive, also if you don't want to use the stylus (which I don't) there is a small tracker pad on the front of the phone that is easy to use and very handy if you've got fat finger that can't quite hit what you want on the screen. Texting was a bit of a nightmare to start with, but once use to it's easy and the predictive text is pretty good.
The camera is a 5MP and come out with good shots (no optical zoom though) in day, although I've had problems using it in low light setting so a good picture on a night out is hard to come by. My Omnia is the 8Gb version, which hold a large portion of my music and a few films. The music library interface is poorer than I expected and if you want to put a lot of music on your phone it can become annoying trying to search through to get the band/song you want to listen to.
Quality of calls is good, although sometimes the volume control is to loud wherever you seem to put it.
All in all I'd recommend this phone to anyone who was after a smart phone. It's a good size with great feature and it's easy to use.
Summary: A true competitor to the i-phone
