Seagate External Desktop Drive 1 TB ... bought this a while ago to take films and music to uni with me and save carrying hundreds of discs. I have had it a couple of months now and I am yet to find a single flaw. It isn t too big. It looks good on the desk. It s quiet and stays cool during even long periods of use. The 1Tb size fits as much as anyone realistically uses and more than most so you are never worried about running out when you need it. One slight drawback is the need for an external power supply although this is true of any desktop hard drive and isn t too much of a problem. It connects with a USB 2.0 interface allowing data to be written to it at speeds of 30Mbps. The read speed is greater than... Microsoft Xbox 360 Hard Drive 20 GB ... hard drive came with the Xbox 360 when I bought it and to be honest if you have an Xbox 360 you really need a hard drive to get by. I think the memory cards are pretty useless, aprt from being able to use your profile anywhere. The minimum I believe you can buy is 20GB but if all you are doing is saving games, storing music, downloading game demos then you should just buy this hard drive. BUT if you want to install games to the hard drive then you need to get a bigger HDD because all I have managed to do is install two games onto it, which is useless if you have more than two games that you play very regularly. Hitachi Travelstar 5K120 80 GB ... Travelstar is a fantastic little hard-drive for me, but I don t use it quite in the way it is intended. It is supposed to be used internally (ie inside the case of your PC or laptop), however I use it as an external drive, connected to my laptop using a simple IDE/SATA to USB lead. This is so I don t have to clog up my main hard drive with games, music etc. I have fashioned a metal casing for it, so dust doesn t get into the workings, so I don t advise doing this unless you can come up with your own way to protect the drive s internal bits and bobs.
