	Freecom Hard Drive 1 TB ... first proper computer I used didn t even have a hard drive. It had two 5.25 inch floppy disk drives from which you loaded the operating system. Then came PC s with internal hard drives, a whole 40mb if my memory serves me right. I thought I d never fill up all that space. These days it s easy to fill up a few gigabytes of space in the blink of an eye. I ve converted a large CD collection to MP3, I have hours of home video footage, notorious for eating up space, years worth of downloads, updates, patches and god knows what else. On top of that I ve got backups of everything including my Playstation 3 data. I ve upgraded internal drives on my desktop pc s many times... 	Freecom Hard Drive Classic 500 GB ... is a fantastic storage solution for everybody and anybody!. Running very quietly, needing only a spare USB port and a plug outlet, this item has been in constant use in my study-so much so that I recommended it for work as well. You do not need any special software to run it-drivers are included on a CD but it s really a simple plug and play device. There is a power button on the back and a blue light shows on the front panel when active. Transfer goes at the usual standard rate. 500 GB is usually ample for home use and you should be able to pick it up for a fairly good price (check out some price comparison sites for the best deal) as, like all storage solutions th... 	Iomega Portable Hard Drive Silver Series 120 GB ... one of these 3 1/4 years ago and its been a superb device. It s not the fastest of drives (2.5" 5400 rpm seagate) but is nice and compact case which feels sturdy enough to protect the drive from most types of damage, it runs pretty quietly and doesn t get overly hot. I haven t checked the voltage usage on this compared to other models but have a feeling that it may be a little higher than some other models which may be worth considering if you are a laptop as it may drag the battery life down a bit.
