Western Digital My Passport Studio Portable WDMT3200 320 GB ... my laptop was choc-a-bloc full of rubbish and in dangerously short memory supply, I decided that it was time for a clear out. The problem was that my clear out consisted mostly of documents and I was still left with a nearly full memory. I decided to buy a hard drive and I saw that these were on special in Fnac and decided to buy one at the reasonable price of 84 euros. I have to say that I am not really up on these sort of computer things so it was a quick glance at the memory size, how pretty it was and whether it was compatible. Seagate External Desktop Drive 1 TB ... bought this a while ago to take films and music to uni with me and save carrying hundreds of discs. I have had it a couple of months now and I am yet to find a single flaw. It isn t too big. It looks good on the desk. It s quiet and stays cool during even long periods of use. The 1Tb size fits as much as anyone realistically uses and more than most so you are never worried about running out when you need it. One slight drawback is the need for an external power supply although this is true of any desktop hard drive and isn t too much of a problem. It connects with a USB 2.0 interface allowing data to be written to it at speeds of 30Mbps. The read speed is greater than... Western Digital My Passport Essential WDME2500 250 GB ... was prompted to buy a personal portable hard drive after getting annoyed of carrying around memory sticks of varying sizes to carry my work/videos/music on. After looking into the various manufacturers of these, I opted to choose the Western Digital 250gn Passport drive as it can be powered through the Usb port on any computer, and in effect acts as one huge memory stick. My hard drive arrived pre formatted to Fat32 which limits the file size you are able to transfer to 4Gb, however you can simply reformat the drive to NTFS enabling larger files to be transferred.
