70 percent smaller than conventional 3.5-inch enterprise drives, a greater number of 2.5-inch SAS drives can be installed in the same space, resulting in improved input-output (I/O) performance. Additionally, lower power consumption per drive and smaller form factor reduces system-cooling requirements.

The 3Gb/sec SAS interface improves system performance while dramatically reducing the cabling footprint, resulting in better system heat dissipation.
