Advantages: hi speed and capacity
Disadvantages: lower the the other ones
1 TB hard drive capacity and 32 MB cache buffer - a major advantage, and 7200 rpm SATA300 interface and taken for granted. Drive is not the only one at all with such a capacity, it is just one of manies.
In both cases, if you create a RAID-array default used in the proposed block size 128 KB.
With its low density, the hard drive from Hitachi is a legitimate outsider. But the union drives in the array with interleaving - improves the speed of up to 15,000 rpm.
loking to Western Digital Increasinge the entire switched to three plates, Hitachi continues to produce devices on five plates, with all its shortcomings.
As a result, the decision making role is always yours. The most important thing is to remember - even if one considers only the performance, the disk array with interleaving is not always faster than a faster one.
In some tasks more quickly - and then it makes sense to use it.
