I purchased this drive fairly reciently for use in an external USB2.0 enclosure to backup soem files and to get my film collection between computers when i go to friends houses.
The drive looks pritty ordenary, just like any outer laptop hard disk, though i am always impressed with how small these things are. Anyway, i fitted it in my enclosure and plugged in, only to find that my computer wouldn't format the disk because it was too large for an external drive.
This was easily solved by partitioning the drive in 2, one for films, one for backups.
My experiances wit the drive sofar have been vary good, it is fairly quiet, except when spinning up. FAST, about 1/3rd faster than the old drive it was replacing. It also seems fairly robust, It survived a 3 foot fall on to the pavement from my pocket, the enclusure must have absorbed some of the shock, but I think it was a mirical it survived.
I wouldn't hesitate in recomending it to anyone needing fater than normal laptop storage, although it is slightly more expensive than some other drives of the same capacity.
Hitatchy lost a lot of trust form me when a desk(aka death-) star died on me taking a lot of my data with it, but this drived miraculious survival from a fall which would have finished most has somwhat restored my faith in there build quality.
