Hitachi Deskstar P7K500 500 GB ... Hitachi Deskstar 500GB Sata Hard Disk Drive is a great hard disk drive for all types of PC user. The Sata connection gives this drive fast connection speed allowing it to display its abilities to the fullest. I have found this drive to be reliable and stable when working. It is very fast especially via Sata and is very quiet in operation. It s a pleasure to use this drive when upgrading from an older drive or even as extra storage space for media or documents. This drive in my opinion is suitable for a media centre PC. Hitachi provide a 3 year warranty also if there are any difficulties. Hitachi Deskstar 7K1000.B 1 TB ... was somewhat wary about buying this hard drive. When I heard the name Deskstar I couldn t help but think of all the "Deathstar" jokes related to their high failure rates. After hearing good things about this drive when looking into 1 TB choices I looked into the Deathstar issue which seems to have been a problem with one particular old model. These days Hitachi are recovering from negative press by producing quality drives. I bought this drive primarily as a storage drive with my operating system on a 500 GB Western Digital. Hitachi Deskstar 7K500 500 GB ... Hitachi Deskstar is a great little hard drive which can be had for around £40. I bought this hard drive for my first computer i built and am extreamly impressed with its preformance. It is exceptionaly quiet i have never really heard a peep from it over the sound of the fans and DVD drive which isn t really that loud. It seems to run at a reasonable temperature, I have felt it before after the coputer has been running for a couple of hours and it has been reasonably cool nothing to worry about. The drive is a massive 500Gb which is plenty for the average user easily fitting all of your music, documents and videos on with little trouble and acres of space to spare. ...
