Advantages: Quiet when running
Disadvantages: Far too expensive for the specifications: Too little storage, old connections.
Everything about this drive is old by today standards.
Lets start with the storage capacity. 80GB, this is not enough for the majority of people any more, once a few thousand photos or a hundred or so video clips are on this device, it will be time to upgrade. Heaven forbid somebody installing an operating system onto it.
5400rpm is standard for 2.5" drives but for the price I would have expected something better from this HP hard drive.
Don't get me started on it being IDE, in my opinion, unless a drive is SATA II or above today, it is not worth getting for compatibility and performance.
I fail to see how this can be priced so highly still. I bought this a few years ago for less than its current price. For a £70 I would have expected at least 1TB, SATA II and maybe even 7200rpm. I do not understand hwo the price can be justified.
There is one, and only one, good thing about this drive though. That is is noise level, when its running you can hardly tell that it is on.
Summary: Please avoid wasting your cash on this outdated drive unless you plan on going back to the 00s
