Western Digital Velociraptor WD3000HLFS 300 GB ... am lucky enough to have two of these in my gaming system. Western Digital s VelociRaptor is an absolute joy to own. I feel that The Western Digital VelociRaptor is hands down the fastest single hard drive I have ever owned. I thought it would be nigh on impossible for Western Digital to improve upon the Raptor series of drives, well people, they have only gone and done it! The drive has a burst speed of over 250 MB/s and a sustained read speed pushing over 100 MB/s seeing these benchmarks was enough to put a smile on my face. Quantum Fireball Lct 20.4 GB ... hard drive is so old but I m using one for random videos at the moment so I thought what the heck. Not really something worth getting due to its very very very low capacity of 20.4GB (forget about the extra .4GB it makes no difference). What you can do with this though is install Windows XP Pro with some space for files or Microsoft Office 2007 Home & Student which may be handy for corporate customers who want to minimise cost but this technology is so outdated you may as well use DOS. Seriously this is very old. It originally came out of an old Windows ME computer I had lying around, I ripped it out and now use it as an external HD for Games/Movie trailers. ... Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 160 GB ... you need a hard drive for your system because either your previous one broke or you need one for your new-build. This cheapo offering from Seagate may just be the ideal HD to get you started. This already came inbuilt with my system but seeing as I ve got it I may as well review it. This hard drive is very low capacity by today s standards but for me who just want a gaming machine and nothing else this is ideal. 160 GB is actually quite a lot and, if like me you run XP, then you needn t worry about the OS taking up all of the space.
