The Maxtor Basics 500GB is probably the most reliable portable storage devices I have ever used. The device is made from hard plastic that has been proven to survive a number of drops of the desk and manage to still work with out an issue. This is important in our family as we have children that get into everything. The device is attractive with a blue that that flashes when the device is transferring data.
