A good reliable hard rive, a definate if you are looking to buy one

When this hard drive first came out it was the first hard drive with 32MB of cache. Your cache in simple terms is your working memory, similar to your ram but its not. This hard drive is sata 2 but has a little trick, if your motherboard only support normal sata don't worry, this hard rive will still work. near where the cables all go in there is a little jumper. This limits it to normal sata and it comes with it limited to normal sata. If your mother board does support sata 2 (which all new motherboard do now) then be sure to take out this little jumper so you can have the full sata 2 speeds. This hard drive is very fast for its price, i have managed to get xp to boot up in under 10 seconds with this hard drive and with vista it takes around 16-17 seconds to boot up. Its not just down to the hard drive the boot up time but it helps to have a good hard drive. This hard drive it also silent when idle and near silent when working, not many hard drives are like that. I would definitely advise this hard drive for someone who is building a performance computer and doesn't quite have the money to stretch to a raptor!!!! Also the 32MB of cache comes in handy.
