I was looking for a reliable yet reasonably priced portable hard drive, and after undertaking a little web-based research concluded that Seagate was the make to go for. Seagate FreeAgent Go 120 GB ... purchased a Seagate Freeagent Go 120 GB a couple of months ago. I paid £59.99 for it in Tesco. I needed to move important documents including all my music files from one computer to another and this seemed the easiest way to do it, and it also ensured I was able to back these documents up. The hard drive is so simple to use - it is literally plug and play with only a small amount of software needing to be installed. This comes on a CD ROM included in the box. It is particularly easy to use - I had never used an external hard drive before I purchased this and was amazed at how straightforward it was. Seagate FreeAgent Go 120 GB ... week, I purchased Segate FreeAgent Go 120 GB to use it as my Ubuntu 8.04 boot drive and normal Windows XP files backup. The reviews of this HDD on Amazon were ok with few complaining about their backup software. Before buying this, I wanted to get huge 500 GB 3.5 inch external USB/Firewire HDD. But then I learnt that it requires extra power supply and does not take its power from USB. So, I decided to go for smaller 2.5 inch, with this one from well known company and very cheap from Amazon.co.uk, around £35 including delivery with 1 month next day delivery trial.
