I purchased the Toshiba Portable Hard drive about six months ago The box was attractive and the price very competitive with other drives with similar specifications.

After opening the box I was surprised to find no software that needed to be preinstalled the drive was plug and play which means all you need to do is connect the drive to the usb port and hey presto the drive is accessible

I had no difficulty connecting the drive to my laptop I would like to mention the usb cable that is supplied with the device is rather short.
The drive its self is of sturdy construction and would take some knocks before damage is done. This is important as many a device has fallen off my desk at home including my laptop on several occasions.
Once powered and connected to your computer you will notice a small blue led will light up this I have found is the only notification that the drive is connected to your computer apart from in my computer.

I found the speed of the device very satisfactory with over 100 gig transferred in an hr or so.

In conclusion I found this drive to be very good value for money it says what it does on the box and isn't bundled with unnecessary software that waists space or slows the external hardware down.
I have used this device most days over the last six months and not lost any data or found any disk errors. In my experience this drive is built to last . I have also found the device to be very quiet infact my laptop fan is far more noisy that the devices cooling system
