Although 80gb may seem small by the terabyte sizes that are more commonly seen today, to be honest I will never need anymore than 80gb until new technology means that file sizes increase dramatically. This is basically just an 80gb external hard drive. I bought it mainly as a home for all my music, partly because I was running out of space on my laptop and partly because I wanted it to be portable around different computers. In this sense it has done exactly what I wanted and has been very useful. It is small enough to put into any sized bag and carry around, and the plug and play feature means that you do not have to turn off your computer or anything like that in order to disconnect it.
