Advantages: Very quiet large storage device well built

Disadvantages: Can be tricky to install if you have USB 1 slots

I recently purchased the Western Digital Caviar 1.5 TB drive and was very impressed at what I saw.

The drive was very cheap priced at less than 80 pounds and holds a massive storage space that no one should be able to use up. The device is jet black and runs very quietly. My laptop cooling fan can be heard over the sound of the storage device which shows it's pretty quiet. The device is made from hard plastic which looks pretty tough which is great because I have dropped it on a number of occasions and it still worked. The device has a blue flashing light when transferring data which becomes quite annoying if it's a darkened room and you're trying to sleep.

I have also found the customer service team very helpful in regard to setup any issues or questions they have were answered very quickly.



The device was quite easy to install being plug and play I was able to connect the device to my USB ports and Windows detected the hardware and installed the correct drivers without me having to do anything .

The speed of the drive is pretty impressive with a 100 GB file transferring in under an hour. I have been using this device for the last few months each day and had no corruption or data loss issues which can happen with drives of this size.

In conclusion this device works very well is quiet and installed very easily

I would recommend anyone who wants to replace there existing data solution this is a definite must.
