With us becoming more reliant on the data and memories, such as photos, held on our computers I personally don't think that you can put a price on the importance of reliable storage. With the prices of hard drives only coming down my personal opinion is that there is no reason why everyone shouldn't keep a backup of all their important documents, after all Hard Drives do fail and it could be a costly process to retrieve years worth of photo's. I think as far as external hard drive space goes these days, pricing is fairly similar for different products. They all also do exactly the same thing, and so are all much the same. I chose this one partly because of good reviews and because of its price, but neither reason was my primary reason - I just sort of chose randomly, because of the similarity on all the ranges of external hard drives. I bought this product as I was concerned about anything happening to my computer, and as a result losing all of my photos, music and videos. Now that I have it, I'm not sure how I coped without it! It's really easy to set up, one cable plugs in to the back of it and goes in to the mains power, and a second cable comes out of it and in to the computer with a USB attachment. I bought this hard drive simply because I was running out of space on the 160GB internal hard drive my laptop has. At first, I didn't realise how much of a tough decision choosing which hard drive to buy is, especially seeing as I would be using it with both Mac and Windows Operating Systems.
